First BBS with my new Merkur 41C Open-comb ...though it took a bit more effort than with my Edwin Jagger DE89L.

    Brush: Semogue 830 banded boar
    Razor: (see above)
    Blade: Feather, 2
    Soap: C&E Sienna
Toner: Alum on one spot of jaw line/Thayer's Rose Petal
Finish: Malizia Uomo Vetyver splash/touch of Prep pre-post cream for extra moisture.

I find this razor to be very comfortable and beautifully maneuverable and nearly impossible to draw blood with, but It does take a wickedly sharp blade and lots of buffing to get a BBS (for me). I might try and shim it with a scissor trimmed blade beneath the cutting one next time and see what that yields. I'm very impressed with my first Semogue though, really nice brush! Happy Shaving! :shaver

    G'Day All!

    Sunday Morning:

    Pre: Hot Shower, RSC Scrub
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1)
    Soap: Proraso White
    Brush: Omega Boar
Post: Thayers WH, Cold Rinse, Nivea Cool Kick ASB

Twas very near a DFS, aside from some irritation, that may have been the blade, but more than likely the lather was the culprit. We'll see in a couple days when I use the Palmolive again.

    Have a great day!

    Sunday

Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower, soak brush
CD: Promise Keepers ~ Seize the Moment
    Coffee: El Salvador, BLACK
    Soap: Irisch Moos stick
Brush: Vulfix 404, The Grosvenor badger/boar mix
    SE: Gem Push Button
    Blade: Gem,day 4, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's Rose Petal WH with Aloe Vera + 2 drops M Bomb, B&BW Oak

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

Finally! A decent lather face lathering. Best shave of the week.

Still won't be giving up the bowl lathering, but it has been a fun week. And I've learned some things, so that's a plus. Hope many of you new to face lathering have, as well!

    1. Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
    2. Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground Sumatran w/ cream
    3. Lather: Cella - face lather
    4. Brush: Vie-Long 13061 "Zurito"
    5. Razor: Merkur Classic (33C)
    6. Blade: Personna Med Prep (1); 3 passes
    7. Post: Cold water rinse; Aqua Velva; Kiehl's Balm
A friend sent me a couple new blades to try; Personna Med Preps & Super Iridiums. I put the Feather on hold to try these out & opted for the Med Prep first. Definitely smoother & more forgiving than the Feather & plenty sharp. I enjoyed a break from the Speick as Cella's performance shined & the Zurito felt a good bit softer today.

Shave Rating - Splendid. God Bless!

It was way too long for me to wait till Monday, so...

    OCMM/Ted Pella PTFE
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
TSD Iced SubZero soap (that's IT!)
    Cold water splash
Mayor Energy Platinum splash (and even more Menthol to the strike!!!)

My menthol addiction grows. After that Menthol Sunday, I know, the Menthol Monday is coming! My pity, the bottle of Mayor aftershave is almost over, seems I'll need some experiments with other aftershaves and M-bomb soon... JoAnna's soaps rocks, as always, the shave was a stellar BBS!

    Sunday 22nd January

    Hot Shower and Facial Scrub
    Proraso Pre Shave Cream
    Feather Artist Club SS
    Semogue 2000 Boar Brush
    Ingram Shave Cream
Alum Block and Proraso Pre/Post cream
    Pashana Original AS

More or less intended to have a maintenance shave but finished with a two pass DFS. The 2000 was the first Semogue I bought. It is a fantastic brush with creams. I really dont use it often enough as subsequent purchases have tended to be smaller brushes.

Knew that stuff had to be good for something....:) If not James Bond wouldn't have carried it with him back in the early 60's.....;)
Come to think of it...In Goldfinger's airplane, James Bond has a Gillette Slim and a can of "Foamy", but you never see him put it on his face, but you do see him squirt it on the mirror....Do you suppose he was trying to cut down on 'mirror fog' ?...:happy097:...Check it out !!
