Monday Gillette FB @5 Derby blade (day 1) Wilkinson badger brush Geo F. Trumper’s sandalwood shaving soap D.R. Harris sandalwood aftershave With the M bomb and some other goodies under way I had to rearrange the drawer that contains my shaving stuff. In the back I found a box with my old Wilkinson brush, the one I replaced with a Vulfix travel brush shortly after I started DE shaving. This type of brush is widely available in drugstores and supermarkets in The Netherlands. It isn’t as soft as the Vulfix, but it already served me well in the past, so this week it will be in rotation.

Monday 23 January Here is my Menthol Monday shave from Shiloh, IL Godrej Menthol Mist Omega Travel Boar, face lather EJ89, with ASTRA SP, this is the first use of the EJ89 and D1 for the ASTRA SP Alcolado Glacial with Nivea Cool Kick gel and moisturizer Well the EJ89 is heavy, a very nice shave. It was supprisingly quiet. It was a three pass DFS. I took it easy with the first use of the razor since I have to work in front of other people today. The menthol mist and alcolado glacial made for a chilly shave. The nivea cool kick has no menthol that I can tell, but it seems to work ok. A very nice shave. The EJ89 was a good shaver, had a nice heavy but balanced feel. Lets give it some more shaves and see how it does. I used a blade that always gives me a good shave for a first attempt. Here is my hotel bathroom picture for the day.

Menthol Monday: You guys want to know about menthol, I'll tell you about menthol! Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 AM day 2 JoAnna's World Champion Iced Subzero SS Diana Sport Menthol Balsam Osage Rub AS Splash Now, that's what I call menthol! This Iced Subzero soap lathers and freezes so delightfully, and this Diana Sport balsam which is from Austria along with the Osage Rub gives an ultra-frigid and wonderful experience. I had a very smooth shave this morning, although it was relatively fast, so it fell into the DFS category.

Monday, January 23 EJ DE86 Ladas (d1) Tabac SS, Rooney Stubby 2XL Clubman Special Reserve (Iced-preceded with Master Blue) First time with a Ladas blade. I agree with many reviews that it is not as good as a Voskhod, but it was still very good relative to other blades at the price. I took one extra pass to make a BBS, and was forgiving. May do better in my Gillettes.

Menthol Monday Shave Omega Boar Brush TSD 2x Iced Cedarwood/Lemon Soap Merkur 38c RapiraMen Swedish TSD 2s Iced Cedarwood/Lemon Splash TSD Iced Cedarwood Milk Music-no music, but a podcast. My absolute favorite podcast-Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. He presents history in an entertaining and educational manner. His latest is the fall of Rome and the adopting of Christianity by the Germanic "Barbarians" that took over in many previous Roman spots. Great stuff if you have any interest in it. Great Freezing Hamster Shave today.
