Nick, If I wanted to get the puck of MWF unstuck from the bottom of my ceramic bowl, how is the best way?
Monday, January 23, 2012 Prep: Shower, no glycerin Razor: Gillette NEW Short Comb Blade: Voshkod (1) Soap: MWF Brush: Rudy Vey Silvertip Post: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater AS/ASM: Captain's Coice Bay Rum + TSD Bay Rum Milk I shaved this morning after waking up instead of my usual midnight shave. Now I remember why I don't like to shave in the mornings. I feel rushed and in a fog, not a good combo. The shave was great, I just didn't enjoy it as much. I'm really liking the Voshkod blades. Very worthy of a group buy! Have a great week, friends.
Finally got my shaveabuck.com order in...the Arko performed as good as I imagined and I loved the scent... VDH Luxury Badger Arko Stick EJ89 loaded with a Crown Blade "Nice Cool" Alum Block Baxter of California ASB

Monday No Prep Arko Stick Arko Adventure SC/Arko Stick-Bowl Lathered Omega 10029 1938 Gillette Senator New Perma-Sharp Super Arko-Nem moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia I don't like pushing this no prep business...Yesterday I was lucky...Today maybe my luck ran out... I started with just the Stick and the lather exploded as usual, no probs there...During my WTG pass everything is exceptional as usual, until I reached the chin area...Then I started to feel the blade edge, and its feeling rough...As I approached the throat I'm thinking, "This blade needs stropping or something." Normally I change a blade at the first sign of a pull or tug or roughness....Well there was not a single 'pull' or 'tug', but it was not smooth, and this combo is always so perfect I couldn't believe it so I'm thinking its me... Now I rinse and whip up a uber-lather on my face, thinking maybe thats it...Wrong!...But I'm still in disbelief so I still haven't changed the blade...I finish the ATG pass and my chin and throat are diffinitely tender... Well it was my fault...My fault for not changing the blade....Ha,ha,ha. Also I've been flagrant with my Prep lately...And I've posted before that I considered the Prep one of the most important basics in building a great shave...I was lucky yesterday, and not doing a proper prep leaves no margin for error. I usually at least like to shampoo my beard with HOT water right before shaving...And I guess you can get a slightly rough blade in any 'Mark'...I should strop it and I'm sure it will be fine, but I've given this one all the chances it's going to get...lol. Actually today's was a very good shave...BBS for the most part....but a little tender here and there, and the Colonia stung a tad. But I've gotten spoiled lately, and I intend to keep it that way...Tomorrow another blade.....Not sure which brand...Might not change, but I've been using the exact same set-up all week...getting perfect shaves, but just saying....Maybe tomorrow I visit my old Russian Friends in the Blue and Pink Box........Just to keep things interesting.... Todays shave because of the tenderness will have to be downgraded to 3 3/4 Blades...and no tree climbing or gong banging,,,)
Thanks 'MM'....But hey...I still had a ball shaving today....It was still fun and very close...Just not up to recent standards...But tomorrow will be superlative....I'll bet on it.... I'll make sure my whiskers are good and moist....and if the blade is rough, I'll change it....lol

Menthol Monday January 23 Today's shave was overdue. I shaved at 7am yesterday and didn't get a chance until 2pm. The sink was filled with the hair that my Merkur 11 C open comb mowed through.
