How's the Omega treating you Nick?

It looks like a model 49 in the pic rather then the 66.

I have a nice Weber Charcoal grill if it would help Danny.

It's only seen about a decade or so of use. :)

    Altesse Badger brush
    Col. Conk Lime
    Booster Iced Lime A/S
    Royall Lyme

Super rushed 3-pass shave this morning. I woke up more than 1 hour late because my alarm did not go off (the time probably didn't get re-set after a brief power outage yesterday). Got out of bed at 6:39 and was in the car heading to work at 6:58--showered, shaved, dressed, and drank 1 cup of coffee in that time (drank second cup of coffee in route to work)!

Today the Rapira Lux got its first go. Got a BBS on 4 passes. Very forgiving. It is definitely a very good blade. Whether it is better than the Swede, Ladas or Voskhod, only more shaves will tell.

You're right! It is a 49. The 49 and the 66 are both doing a super job of lathering.

Tried 2 more firsts today... The Prima Scheerzeep... and a Russian Gillette Super Thin courtesy of Shawn (thanks man!!) The Soap Smells amazing IMO ....it wont really whip up a thick lather (in comparison to an Arko Stick) for me but thats no matter to me because it shaved perectly....good slip for the razor and did not thin out throughout any of the passes....today was a pretty awesome 3 pass shave!:happy093:

Thank you Jamie! greatly appreciated! I have tried to find this sweet spot and I believe it is somewhere around OZ :) I wont say it is mild at all, Just not a close shaver if that makes any sense? Could it be possible that (and I know this will sound crazy but hear me out) could my lather be (dare I say) to thick? could it be that the blade is "floating"? Some times I can get lather as thick as cake icing. Like I said earlier I can almost shave dry with this thing. Maybe I should "lean out" my lather? I know I will have to give it more time thats for sure.

    Well I think
I certainly think you may have a point regarding the lather being to thick, maybe you need to be somewhere in between with the lather, you may have just solved your own problem. well done.

    Regards Jamie.

    • Blade: new Feather blade
    • Brush: Wilkinsin Sword badger / boar
    • Soap Cream: TSD Oak Leaves & Acorns wheat schaving cream

The shaving cream and the Witch Hazel came yesterday in the mail. I simply had to try 'em! :) I love those 'wooden' scents: all day I had the smell of a sawmill around me. Nice!

    Have a nice day!

I will have pictures with my shaves again, I noticed some stuff had been moved near the fuse box so I asked the GF why!!! she said oh the fuse tripped the other day, when I asked what she was doing she said charging the camera battery why:angry032:
So i changed the fuse in the scocket and the light has come on so I'll see in the morning if its ok, saved me a couple of ££££ not getting new battery (which would not of helped!!):)
