Post: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater

    Friday

Muhle Head with vintage Merkur handle
    Voskhod (day 2 & day 1)
    Vulfix travel brush
    TSD Iced Sandalwood shaving soap
    TSD Iced Eucalyptus Wich Hazel
    Proraso splash

    vrijdag.jpg

Second take on the Voskhod blades. I changed yesterday’s blade from the Tech to the Muhle head. Again it was not good, the glide was below par and I felt a great deal of tugging. To make sure my very first ever Voskhod blade wasn’t by coincidence a bad one, I used a new one in the second pass. Same story. For the third pass I used a Schick G1 that gave met the DFS after all (it's not in the picture, I took that before the shave). Looks like Voskhod and I don’t get along very well.
The TSD iced software, on the other hand, is really wonderful, like it a lot.

    Obsession For Men EDT

Yes, I would classify this shave as BBS, and strangely enough, I did it quite fast. The Proraso Green soap delivered its great lather and famous cooling effect, which the Alt Innsbruck reinforced. This 7 AM blade has earned its retirement. ;) :D

Just try take it in stride.

Without these occasional reminders of what a craptacular shave feels like, it is hard to really enjoy good shaves when you get them.

    Omega 10029 Baby-Pro,boar
    Arko Shave Stick-face lathered
    1938 Gillette Senator One-Piece Razor
    Derby (2)
    Cold Water Rinse
    Arko-Nem moisturizer
    Arko Aqua AS Splash

2 Pass Excellence....Everything just came together in a most delightful way...;) The Arko Stick is still da bomb, and face-lathering it with the Omega is such an invigorating massage...Then the Senator/Derby combo is too much fun! It's like taking your favorite roadster out in perfect weather and straightening out some country roads....with this set-up, I can throw all caution to the wind and just blast around my face and have a ball...I should get a ticket for 'excessive shave enjoyment'...lol...And the Arko Aqua AS is such a classic Barber Shop Scent...It really takes me back....Thus providing a fine finish to a great shave...:happy108:

BTW....It's kinda embarassing, but....These Derb's are knocking me out!.......I know it's very 'in vogue' to bash Derby Extra's and I've even done it myself on occasion....But...I'm having a ball with these, and getting great irritation-free shaves...
If you asked me today what my 2 favorite blades are, I would have to say that I've gotten great shaves from everything I've throw at this Senator....But the Perma-Sharp Supers and the Derby Extras are the ones I will probably be coppin' in bulk....

    Have a great weekend everybody!

    Friday:

Wasn't feeling all that well last night and went to bed without my shower, but couldn't fall asleep until 4 a.m., so this morning started with a hot shower and soaped up with Yardley Almond and Oatmeal bath bar.
    Dovo Natural
    EJ Best
    Derby Lemon
    Alum Block
    Witch Hazel
    Afta Fresh Balm
    Brut After Shave

The Derby Lemon shave cream really doesn't get the credit it so deserves, as it makes a fantastic lather and has that great lemon drop smell throughout the shave. I'm looking forward to trying all of the flavors eventually.
