BBS this morning, woke up early to try to take my time but still ended up having my 3 passes done in just over 10 minutes...so didn't know what to do with myself. lol

DFS 3 pass shave I do like the menthol, I wasnt sure what to use today then realised its got to be menthol monday, (cant believe I aint used a vintage razor for over a week)

A two pass with touchup BBS shave. A great start to the week

 

Mentholated

Just shaved. Worked 8-5 and slept late. So in for a piping hot shower with MWF soap and out for a shave.

For those who asked I am enjoying the Humphreys witch hazel. Not at all overpowing and quite soothing.

I enjoyed the face freeze so I might have to come up with a menthol Tuesday. First bad Gillette Dark Blue, just got progressively worse with each shave. Heck, there were 49 good blades before this one and it is my favorite blade.

Next up is to find out how Slanty will work with a Yellow. Until then...

 

Boychik, I'm planning a Menthol Tuesday Shave as well - I just have no idea which stuff to use. I'd like it to be a soap this time, but I don't have so many mentholated ones. By far, my mentholated shaving stuff are creams. Perhaps Ginger's Garden Ice Mint soap.......that one smells awesome, it lathers like a maniac, and it's plenty COLD!

 

Monday: Another attempt at shimming the blade in my Merkur 41C open-comb. this time I used a spent Feather blade and trimmed the edge just shy of the beginning of the bevel so the blade above it would fit securely with little or no play, then sanded it to knock down any burrs. Big difference! Without a doubt the closest shave I've gotten with the 41C open-comb and with no irritation. I just don't like the idea of the fiddling around with something not intended for the design - but hey, the results were great! BBS, without a doubt. ....and I'm liking the Merkur blades too, feels like Lord blade but sharper to me.

Toner: Thayer's Lavender
Finish: Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns and a touch of Prep pre-post cream for extra moisture.
