Off to the slopes of Utah tomorrow morning. Going with an old high school buddy-he uses cartridges but I've instructed him to bring no shave gear of his own. He's agreed. Bringing a British SS Rocket with a Shark blade for him. Multiple choices of sticks/creams.

 

Yeah, this was a weird one for me as I can usually go ATG there without a problem. I even blade buff there ATG with a OCMM without problem. I have a few hairs right at the base of my nose that I can't quite reach with any other pass besides the ATG. I may just have to incorporate some extreme nose smashing to get to them either WTG or XTG.

Iridums are my all time favorite. Supposedly, the Polsilvers replaced the Iridiums and now they're disco'd like you said. What's next? MWF?

Razor: '58 Gillette SS
Blade: Dorco ST-301, day 2, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH, Sean John Unforgivable, hand strop blade

Shave Rating: 4 Blades

Funny, but the '58 SS just shave as well as the '58 TV. It really only appears that the knurling on the handles are different. Guess if I wanted to go through the trouble to measure the gap.... nah. I'll just enjoy using things from days long past.

 

And it only gets better!

Wasn't quite sure about it at first then i started getting a better technique and it started goin a little better.

Yeah i still need to get on youtube and watch some of the tutorials that people were telling me about on here.

cream: TSD Wheat cream
Razor: brandless
Blade: Feather (3rd shave, check if the blade is centred in the razor, don't want to tear myself apart )
3 pass shave + some touching up
Post: hot rinse, cold rinse, TSD Witch Hazel

It's a good day. DFS+. Nice.
The good thing (one of multiple!) about traditiona wet shaving is that, whatever your day may be, there is alway a fun thing to do and to look forward to!
