    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/new 7 AM
    Wilkinson Sword Shaving Stick :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029:

    Obsession For Men EDT

A new blade always makes a big difference in a shave - today, I got really BBS with so little effort. The Wilkinson stick smells so nice and gives fantastic lather. I find it a lot better than the bowl version. The Hega aftershave from Sweden contains a lot of alcohol, but it soothes and relaxes the skin. ;) :D

It's pretty big (50-60) and entirely random. If I do a decent job honing I wouldn't expect the razor to need anything but a leather strop for the week it's in rotation and it should leave the rotation with a good shaving edge.

    Friday

    Gillette FB @3
    Derby day 2
    Vulfix best badger travel brush
    Palmolive Methhol shaving cream
    TSD Iced Eucalyptus Witch Hazel
    Proraso splash

    friday.jpg

Today we saw the first snow of this winter, a perfect day for my first take on the Palmolive Menthol. I pressed the tube a little to tight and got about twice the size of cream I intended. Needless to say I ended up with an amount of lather good enough for nine passes…
The Palmolive Menthol is really great shaving cream: it lathers very well and the menthol kick is abundant but not freezing. In the past I have used Palmolive Classic, that cream also performed great, but I didn’t care for the scent, so when it was finished it wasn’t replaced. This menthol cream however smells fine and has the added menthol kick bonus.
The TSD Iced witch hazel and the Proraso splash finished the shave in style. Great shave today, DFS.

Happy GEMruary! A month of the Gems with the 27th being the centennial of the 1912 patent. The OCMM is still my favorite razor. I hope to be giving it a run for it's money when a friend lends me both a new R41 and a slant to try out. Excellent BBS shave this morning.

Shave Rating - Splendidly Sublime! A definite Single Blader! God Bless!

    Razor: Kraut & Dohnal 9/16
    Brush: Men-U Boar
    Soap: TSD Cool Water type
    Toner: witch hazel
    A/S: Aqual Velva Ice Sport

My beard wasn't terribly thick this morning, so I decided to get out the K&D. It was my first straight razor, and now seems quite small compared to the 6/8 razors I usually use. The razor was tugging quite a bit when I started the first pass and tugging a lot by the end I paused and got out the barber hone for 5 quick laps and re-stropped then finished the shave. That did the trick and I was able to get a BBS shave!

Before today, I was toying with passing this razor on because it is so small. I think my technique must be getting better because I was able to get a BBS shave just by taking shorter strokes, and a greater number of strokes than I do with the bigger razors.

    Morning All!

    Friday:

    Pre: Hot Shower
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Gillette 7 O`Clock Yellow (5)
    Cream: Speick
    Brush: Omega Boar
Post: Thayers WH, Cold Rinse, Proraso ASB

I went into today's shave not expecting the absolute best, because I figured the blade was getting to the end of its useful life. I usually do 4 pass + touch up shaves every other day, and though my beard is not coarse and bristly, it is not super fine either, so I think 4-5 is a good number for blade life for me. I got what I expected. Some minor tugging on the XTG pass, and even more on the ATG. A fair amount of irritation on my neck as a result, as well as a couple weepers, but this was my doing. And this was only 3 passes, no touch ups. I was debating changing the blade, but I just wanted to see :p Either way, the Proraso ASB took care of the major irritation, and now, 2 hours later, I don't feel much, if any.

Still, more acceptable than my Philips electric :D

Bird Lives Future Root Beer King of Turkey

    Friday
No Prep...don't recommend it...no time, and I was very lucky...:)
Music: The sounds of the loudest razor I've ever had, whacking whiskers
    Coffee: Mehmet Effendi Turkish, BLACK
    Arko: Shave Stick/Max.Comfort SC face-lathered with Omega 10029 Baby-Pro,boar
    1938 Gillette Senator/Perma-Sharp Super D3
Post: Cold water rinse/Arko-Nem moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia

Whipped up a great face lather with SC, then rubbed a wet Shave stick in circular motions til SC had been rubbed in good and lots of shave soap was applied...Hit with a wet brush and the Uber-lather explosion could probably be seen from 'outer-space'...:happy102:

Then my Senator armed with a 3 day old Perma-Sharp Super in 2 passes, gave me one of the nicest shaving experiances of my life...:happy108: Just no other way to put it....

Until I can get some good new shots...I'm including a picture of my Senator Jody took, for those not familier with the breed, here is the lovely.

    Have a great weekend everybody!!
