Weekend, so it is Rolls Razor time!

Wanted to try making some superlather today, but I'm not sure if I succeeded... Nice lather though.

• Prep: hot water rinse, hot washing cloth
• Music: Sammy Rimington, The Sammy Rimington Band (listened to it earlier this week and felt like listening to again)
• Brush: WS gadger / boar
• Soap / cream: TSD Signature + TSD Wheat Cream (oak leaves & acorns) + a dash of shower oil (ain't got no shaving oil yet), bowl lathered
• Razor: Rolls
• 3-pass shave + touch-up
• Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse

Nice DFS, though I need to practice some more on shaving with the Rolls.

This Tibet Forest Fresh which is also made in Bangladesh is made by the Kohinoor Chemical Company, which is the producer of the Ice Cool cream that I used yesterday. This Tibet stuff has a nice scent with the same explosive lather, as well as a great cooling effect. I enjoyed the shave so much today, and the Diana balsam froze my face wonderfully!

What a Shave, Finally

This was a rough week on many levels, not bad, but challenging. One thing I count on to deliver a smile is my shave. But I had two in a row, that were also, well challenging.

So I selected all of my classic items, said a few Hail Moses' and relaxed for a shave.

I think the MWF was missing. I always try to shave with it 2-3 times in a row each week to get my face good and scrubbed. And I hadn't done so.

At the end of the shave, the whiskers where in the sink, not the face, and I was happy again.

I enjoyed the boosted KK, but I added too much this morning and the menthol overpowered the rose scent. Aside from that, there was nothing wrong with the shave and I went for an uncharacteristic third pass. Finished as close to BBS as I am likely to see. Also ended up with more irritation than my normal two pass shave.

I bumped up the setting on the Futur to 2 1/2 and had a great shave head and face.The first time I ever used the Futur was with a Merkur Blade and a setting of 3.My face was BBS but felt like it was on fire,no weepers.My head however looked like I was a solder from Custers Last Stand,these were not weepers but more like Old Faithful.Now I've pretty much have the hang of the Futur,no weepers in 4 months I may bump it up to 3.You would think a Merkur razor and blade would be a perfect match,however that's not the case.Merkur makes a fine razor,the blades are iffy.I've tried them in a few razors and they just dont work for me.

It is great to be back amongst the living. I had the nasty flu bug that has been going around. The first pass was ATG and I got a DFS+ from it. Just could not help myself and lathered up again. This time XTG and ended up with a BBS.

 

Finally getting some time to post an SOS. Past week was busy trying to get annual reviews written up on all my folks. Then had a few evening meetings to attend. But...
