I've been searching for this off and on for 2 days. Does anybody know the ing. for the TaT cream and balm?
I do this it is made in the place Viking, Phyto, are made. I enjoy using Tet-A-Tet, it does have a hint of menthol, it is slick, lathers nicely. It is a great shave cream in my opinion.
Tet-a-tet is actually pleasantly mentholated. Not as heavily as let's say, Proraso Green, Ingram, or Godrej Menthol Mist, but it's very much there. It's made here.
I thought about asking Jody, but honestly I thought the label would be written in Russian and need translating so I was reaching out to our Easter European and Russian members. Maybe I'm wrong. Jody, if that's not the case and you don't mind...I know you're busy with getting the Voskhods shipped though.
The label is written in Russian or I would have chimed in with the list previously. I just wouldn't know where to start.
Even with my genetic history I was never able to grasp the Cyrillic alphabet. At one time it spread across half of Europe and Asia. Thought it would be good to know but 'memory' wasn't strong enough.
Ingredients: Water, Stearic Acid, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerine, Perfume, Sodium Hydroxide, Oleic Acid, Boric Acid, Sodium Silicate, Menthol, Plantago Major (Plantain) leaf extract, Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinamal, Hydroxyisohexl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Hydrocitronellal, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl lonnone, CI 42090. Even though the label is in Russian, Chemical names usually aren't translated and are pretty standard to read.
Sorry. I didn't see this thread until now but KJ took care of you. That's the ingredients. Funny. I'd read somewhere it had "melissa" in it. Had no clue what "melissa" was until Gary linked me up in The Haul thread. It's aka Lemon Balm plant and I'm assuming the Hydrocitronellal ingredient is the Lemon Balm plant (citronella?) but I don't know for sure. I don't know much about chemicals and extracts. I do find it interesting that it has Plantain leaf extract... Banana's cousin? Either way, I really love the stuff. It's not overpowering menthol-y. I really don't like menthol anything but in this mixture, it's perfect for me. Also note that the company that makes TaT, Kalina, is now owned by Procter & Gamble... aka Gillette. My box does have the PG logo on it where the ingredients are listed. That's another reason I stocked up with 9 tubes of the shaving cream and 9 tubes of the aftershave balm... because Gillette is always killing off products just for the hell of it. Edit: Got all confused there. Kalina is now owned by Unilever, not Procter & Gamble. Unilever of course is the British giant company that owns brands from Hellmann's Mayonnaise to Slim-Fast to Dove Soap to Lipton Tea to Vaseline to Brylcreem to AXE (body wash, deodorant, etc). That's still the reason I stocked up. Unilever is known for killing brands and products too.
Apparently they make 2 different aftershave balms. There's one on this page I've never seen... it's the 6th product in the list. The 5th product is the usual ASB everyone knows. But the second ASB has me curious and intrigued now.... http://www.kosmolat.lv/catalog/dir/8 And the 7th product in the list is... Tet-a-Tet Shampoo??
Tet does make two balms, one with cologne and one without cologne. In the group trade we did with Dmitry for his custom TSD razor, the balms were a mixture of cologne and non-cologne. Personally, I don't really notice a difference between the two.
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate the help. The Plantain ing. is interesting. I'm going to spring for a couple of tubes of both the cream and balm. Like Jody says, never know when the Shave gods will taketh away. Plus, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about TaT. thanks again.
No sweat, I meant to do it the day before, but forgot when I got back to my room. I actually got my Tet-a-tet from the same place Jody did. I started trading with him, and then he decided to start selling on eBay.
