A really nice and leisurely shave, this saturday morning. I took the time to really enjoy it and feel the brush and later the blade on my skin. With this brush I'll be converted to face lathering, I guess. Such a joy! Despite some tugging I can only rate this shave as a DFS ++. Close to BBS, but with a nice shave as this one, the rating of the result is of minor importance! :)

Have a truly wonderful weekend all!

    saturday

    hot shower
    proraso white
    omega badger
    gillette fusion
    cold water rinse
    gillette asg
1 pass atg perfection bbs and smooth shave. and i'm begining to suspect its the goo in the cans fault for the fusion and cartridge razors in general, dauling up so quickly. it seems the razor cleans up so much easier when using a quality shave soap vs the goo. the shave soap feels much slicker then the goo also, much better protection and glide.

I was surprised that the Wilkinson Sword blade did not last long enough to take me through the week, so this morning I switched to a Shark. This blade is very sharp and smooth as well, so let's see about the longevity. Today's shave was awesome. Man, I love that Barbon cream and aftershave! ;) :D

    Saturday 3-3-12 ... I needed a kickstart this morning.

Tunes - Pantera, Vulgar Display of Power
Pre - hot shower, soak brush
    Prep - Proraso Pre-shave
    Soap - Proraso Green
    Razor - '53 SuperSpeed
    Blade - Personna Platinum (1)
Post - warm water rinse, WH+Alum, cold water rinse
    AS - Proraso Pre-shave

Good timing on this latest TSD article. Anyone seen the latest mantic review on youtube on the Muhle R41, well that's what happened to my neck this morning. All good though, now that i'm edumacated. No styptic needed, but I did try a cold water soaked facecloth and it definitely helped! All was good until I went ATG, same thing the last time I tried a Personna Platinum in my 33C; I figured I'd giv'r another go in a milder razor .. nope.

Note to self (and any other metal heads) - No Pantera when you try a str8 for the first time![IMG]

    Have great weekend everyone!

    Ever-Ready brush re-knotted with badger.
Kiss My Face Cool Mint Moisture Shave cream
    Kampfe SCS lather catcher
    CVS Blade

I missed one day of shaving this week. Wednesday. Not only did I oversleep, but power dropped out only minutes after I awoke. Luckily nobody much cares about the scruffy look where I work, and Thursday's shave was all the more satisfying.

Of my two Kampfe lather catchers, this is the easy one with which I always get great shaves. It's from about 1913, and was made for SE blades. Haven't gotten the hang of the other one, a 1902 design which will take either wedge blades or modern disposable ones.

    Godrej Menthol Mist SC
Omega Boar travel brush, face lather
    EJ89, w/ Voshkod
Boosters Polar Ice and Nivea Cool Kick ASB

A nice three pass shave while travelling. Finally got a hotel in NYC that actually had a stopper in the sink so I could have a proper shave. Not only did it have a stopper, but there was counter space for my ditty bag. A winner in all, I think that was the last day for Voshkod, I think I only got three shaves out of that one, but they were nice. Have to see how they work out on an extended trial, so far I like them. The menthol mist is just what I needed after a long night at work.

    Have a great weekend.

    Saturday

    Hot Shower (soak brush,Semogue 620)
    Proraso PrePost cream
    Parker Sandalwood Sheabutter shave soap
    Gem OCMM/Blue Star (3)
    Cold Water Rinse
Monster Block Alum (clean brush, razor, police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
Florida Water (Peru) mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

Another great shave with the OCMM despite the fact the Parker soap kinda fizzled out on my face.So I added some Proraso shave cream and 2 drops of glycerin, whipped that up and got a nice lather.Sometimes you got to improvise and I wont shave with a sub par lather, not with a SE :D It all turned good I got BBS head and face :D

    Razor: iKon OSS
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3 Best
    Soap/Cream: La Toja Classic Cream
    A/S: Floid Blue

A BBS shave today. This was my first time using La Toja and Floid Blue. The cream performed well but I need some additional shaves with the cream to see if it makes it to the favored list. The Floid Blue is a definite favorite with a scent that reminds me of one of the old barbershops I went to with my grandfather and father. The was my first use with the OSS as an owner. My first opportunity to use the OSS came when Phil lent it out to travel and be put to the test as the traveling razor. A great razor with a dual personality!
