Monday March, 5: Brush: DoRosso super silvertip Razor: EJ DE89L Blade: Treet blue blade, 2 Cream: Taylor's Lavender Toner: Thayer's Lavender WH Finish: Speick splash/Prep pre-post cream Even though I got some tugging from the nearly spent Treet blade, I got a close and smooth shave. Happy Shaving
The 1250 is one of my favourite boar brushes. The hair is actually a grade lower than the 1305 and 830 which are both premium grade.
Monday's Shower and Shave Long hot shower. Next in the brush line-up was the Omega 48. In honor of "Menthol Monday" I choose Viking Shave Cream . Today was day three for the "new style" Gillette Open Comb with the 7'o clock blue. This combo has had great shave results. After three passes I followed up with a polar water splash, toned my face with Thayer's Witch Hazel, to seal a great shave a splash of Colonia Agua. :wave:returning from the weekend of they were happy to rate this DFS a 10 Everyone have a great week. Will be posting my PIF for March very soon. The Den is awith PIF. Does anyone have doubt that this is the BEST Shave Forum to be a member of.
Nice setup! I've got an Esterbrook on my wish list for some years now. Have to be careful about choosing the type of tip, though, as I.m a southpaw! One fine day...
Monday! Prep: hot water splash, hot water rinse Music: Vangelis, L'Apocalypse des Animaux Brush: DVH boar Soap: Williams Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Stanley (local hardware store!) Shave: 3-pass + touch-up Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse Despite the blade (I clean forgot to buy the right ones in itme for SE week... D'oh! ) a nice shave despite only attaining a DFS-. But the Williams made it a nice shave. And I like the weight and balance of the OCMM! Have a great week all!
I knew about fishcrow, but figured I'd flush out a couple of other FP users in this traditionalist group. This LJ and a J Esterbrook are my favorites, but the Parker 51 is pretty close.
Monday Night No Picture as this week my setup will be the same all week so just the same as Sunday's pic. Gold Dollar 66, Vie Long Brush, Tabac Stick, Alum, Old Spice Whitewater Since honing this is shave #3 with this cheapest of the cheap blade. Still very sharp and smooth and giving a close, comfortable shave. Of anything that let me down tonight it was the Tabac. The lather was drying on my face faster than normal. Odd but didn't effect the shave much.
Monday Morning - Forgot about Menthol Monday, my bad! Gillette Flare Tip SS + Bolzano Superinox (D4) Cella Simpsons Berkeley Cold Water Rinse + Brut A/S DFS, though I'm not tempting fate, the blade had day 4 this morning so I'll gracefully retire it. Blades that hated my other razors seem to work like a dream in this vintage Gillette...not complaining at all!
