    Friday's Shower and Shave
A long hot shower to undue that knots and stiffness.
    Facial prep Proraso Glycerin.
Omega 48 was next up in the line-up, it lathered up a home run with Vitos Super Extra.
I am using a two razor combo this week, today I shaved with the Gillette open comb. The blade was a vintage Schick Stainless.
Three comfortable passes, a cold water splash, RazoRock Alum, Thayer's Witch Hazel. The finishing touches for this great DFS, Superior 70

Everyone have a great weekend. IMG_1332.JPG

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
Lather: L'Occitane Cade - face lather
    Brush: Semogue 820
    Razor: Gem OCMM
Blade: Pella PTFE (4); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Menthol

What a soap & AS pairing. I greatly enjoyed my shave this morning even though it was a bit rushed & I got a little irritation on my lower neck. The Krampert's menthol calmed it out down & left me smelling fine & feeling smooth.

It's all about the quality time! If anything he will remember those moments. He loves to shave and I love teaching him! I hope to share the hobby with him when he grows older.

March 30th - Late night shave
Beverage: Gin & Tonic (Bombay Sapphire)
Music: Cajun Fest on Tunein Radio (smartphone app)
    Prep: Nivea Face Wash
Pre-Lather: Sara-s homemade Vetyver shaving soap, followed by grape seed oil w/ EOs
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Brush: Vulfix 660S
    Blade: Sputnik (2)
Soap: Mystic Water - Lily of the Valley
    Post: Witch Hazel
    AS: Myrsol Agua Balsamica
    BBS!

I found out a couple of things. First, Cajun music is great music to build lather to. The dancing about seems to accelerate the lather building process. Second, Cajun music is not what you want to listen to when actually shaving. It's hard not to slice yourself when you try to dance and shave at the same time.

The second shave with the Sputnik went much better than the first. I credit that to prep. Face wash, followed by about 2 or 3 minutes of lather sitting on my beard, rinse, then my grape seed oil mix. There were times I didn't even feel the blade. VERY nice! This would be a great blade if not for the fact that I can get the same or better result with the cheaper Voskhod.

I'm loving this Mystic Water soap. I've had 19 shaves and 1 or 2 test lathers on a 0.75 ounce sample with several more to go. There are a couple of folks across the street who sa they cannot get it to work for them. I don't doubt them at all, but I do wonder how that could possibly be. I'm a noob, doing nothing special that I can tell, and I'm getting loads of awesome lather. The photo below is what is left AFTER 3 passes! It loads easy, it builds lather easy, and it shaves great.

One pass shave with minor clean up, the Vito's Coconut & Almond really is a top class performer, but why they call it super Coconut i will never know? because i've got a really good sense of smell and can barely detect coconut in this soft soap, but on the other hand if you like almonds then it's the one you should try, a great soap.

Leisurely shaved this morning. Took the time to savour it. Listening to some old-fashioned jazz, enjoying every second of both (music and shave). Resulted in a wonderful BBS (the shave, not the music). Exellent shave despite one weeper. Closed up fine. What else to ask for?

    Have a great weekend!

I hate to have to shave fast when I use my Gada Cool Mint cream because it prevents me from enjoying the experience to the maximum, but I had no choice this morning. I have to work today, and that already has me in a bad mood. Still, a good shave. ;) :D
