    Monday's Shower and Shave

Every morning starts with a hot shower and bar soap.

    Facial prep Proraso glycerin.
Theme week razor a Gillette Tech, with a Astra blade.
Unnamed Menthol Soap:Animatedfrozensmily: lathered up nicely with Parker Badger.
After three passes I splashed cold water on my face. I followed with RazoRock Alum and then Thayer's Witchhazel. Then I finished the face :Animatedfrozensmily:with Osage Rub.

Jeff, a couple of years ago someone at Gut Rasiert sent me a Cadre Noir soap. I was very, very impressed with it because I find it not only lathers and smells very nicely, it also offers great razor glide and a lot of skincare. Cathy is a soap genious!

My Tech. It's the second razor I collected. I've had it for a long time. Techs and Proraso go together.

    Monday!
    • prep: hot water splash, hot washing cloth
    • music: Paul Simon, Graceland
    • brush: DVH boar :love029::love029::love029:
    • soap: DVH, puck face-rubbed:love029::love029:
    • razor: Gillette flare tip Rocket:love029::love029::love029:
    • blade: Merkur (2nd shave)
    • shave: 3-pass
    • post: hot water rinse
Clean DFS. The face-rubbing technique wasn't super today. It turned out to be only just enough for a 2-plus-pass shave. 3rd pass a bit dry. Nothing left for touch-up. I will have to be sure to rub some more soap on my chin tomorrow.

    Have a great week all!

    Hi all!

    Monday afternoon shave
    prep; hot shower/proraso pre shave
    soap; proraso green
    razor; feather as
    blade; feather yellow
post; cold water rinse and proraso asb

After another couple of weeks of experimenting i'm back. I've discovered a love for bowl lathering and multiple passes :D. The Feather AS-D1 has finally turned into the shave machine I've always wanted and I'm now getting VERY close smooth shaves out of it. Not BBS shaves but DFS shave none the less.

Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't already have. The Feather didn't change. YOU did. Congrats!!!!

@crackstar: You are so spot on with your assessment about this soap, Jeff. The Cadre Noir is my all-time favourite! And yes, Cathy;s soap making skills are out of this world.

My Tuesday shave, using this much discussed soap between Jeff & Jeff above with the following:

Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
’56 Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
    Feather (2.)
D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave

1 pass XTG was all that was needed today after yesterday’s very enjoyable morning ritual. Nice and smooth!

Admit it. You have missed me. ;)

I will get back to posting my shaves tomorrow now that I know what has been making me sick since November .... I will be having surgery on the 11th to remove my gall bladder. Yuck! But I hear I will feel 100% better ... I sure hope so, these past few months have not been friendly.

So, tomorrow it is! You... Me... Here... :D

Congrats abouts the Feather AS! I never had enough courage to buy one. Anyway it is straight shaving without honing/stropping. Keep going!

Today was a shave inspired by Geofatboy from shavenation.com...he is one of my favorite mentors as far as online mentor videos go...anyways....I was watching one of his wonderful youtube videos today the topic "Merkur HD 34c vs Merkur Futur".......in the video he of course used a 34c so thats the razor I used since I do not have a Futur lol.....and his cream of choice was TOBS Sandalwood...at first tries with this cream I hated it...now its grown on me and before I watched the video this morning I hadnt touched that cream in probably 3 months ...im glad I did...TOBS lathers like a beast and performs great and smells even better now that its grown on me.

Pre:Face wash w/ "Wake Up" (Clove, Cedar and May Chang) scented bar soap from Mundus (excellent soap!!!)
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade:Voskhod (4)
    Brush: VDH Luxury Badger
Bowl: Col. Conk Chrome shave bowl
    Post: Ogallala Bay Rum

    Hey, Shawna.

Sorry to hear the GB has to go, but at least there's an end to your feeling bad just up ahead. My wife had her's out when she was about your age and it made a world of difference for her. My 11 year old neice had her's out last year too. I think it's more of a female thingy.

Outpatient arthoscopy, right? We'll be thinking of you.:angelic013:
