    Omega Boar
    Schick Type O injector
    Personna II twin injector blade.

This is the twenty-seventh soap or cream in a row that I have used for a full week or more. I still have three creams and one soap stick before the cycle is complete. How on Earth did this happen? I used maybe three or four brands of canned shaving cream before picking up some Williams soap in 2009.

I just realized what the Kolynos Regular cream smells like - yes, like C&E Almond!!!!! This stuff has a lilac-type scent which is actually quite nice and the lather is really rich and stable. Man oh man, that Hega aftershave feels so cool and soothing. What a great shave I had this morning! ;) :D

    This morning's shave:
Hot shower while brush and puck of soap soak
    EJ pure badger hair brush
EJ Sea Buckthorn Soap (to start...more on that later)
EJ DE89L loaded with Feather blade (3)
3-pass shave + touchups with a little lather doctoring along the way...
    Cool Waters A/S Splash
Result: DFS with a little help.

Comments: Again, for the 2nd day in a row I just couldn't get a decent lather from my EJ soap. I'd been using this soap with great success for a while, then I put it away for a couple of weeks and was using VDH instead. Pulled the EJ back out yesterday morning and couldn't get a lather. Added a dallup of CO Bigelow and it worked just fine. So last night I whipped up a quick test lather with no problems. Lathered my face and it seemed great. I figured it was just a case of the Monday's and all would be well Tuesday morning.... Well, This morning I got a lather for the 1st pass, and it looked ok to start the 2nd pass, but by the end of the 2nd pass the lather on my face just seemed to be disappearing. I didn't even try for a 3rd pass as there just didn't seem to be anything left in the bowl or in my brush. So again I added a bit of Bigelow and away I went... 3rd pass went GREAT, touchups were no problem, and I walked away with a DFS and in a good mood. Just wish I could get the kind of lather out of that EJ that I used to...

    Tuesday.

 Teenage Head, Drivin' Wild :happy088:
Hot shower + Noxema Original Deep Cleansing Cream
Proraso Anti-Irritation Pre-Shave cream, between each pass
VDH Deluxe soap, face lathered w/ a little pure badger brush
    4 passes w/ '68 SS Flare Tip & Treet Platinum SS (3)
Cold water rinse + Blue Floid AS

All in all a pretty good shave. I only went WTG and sorta-XTG on my neck for fear of the unknown remaining life of the Treet blade and ended up a bit more rough than normal.

This week I'm shaving everyday. I've always been an every 2 day shaver until I woke up one day and had to rent an apartment for my shaving soaps. I thought this would be a good way to try something new and maybe kill off some of my favorite soaps (renting is expensive!:scared001:).

You could do what I've started doing...pre-lather with one soap as a beard prep, then use anther soap for shaving. I could use the same soap for both, but this allows me to get more experience with new and trickier soaps. I did this last night with Mystic Water prep lather followed by RazoRock XXX shave.

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
    Lather: MWF - face lather
    Brush: Frank Shaving Finest
    Razor: Sledgehammer Slant
    Blade: Voskhod (2); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Menthol

No ATG pass this morning. I've gotten a little arrogant lately by trying ATG on my lower neck. Unfortunately, even as my technique is improving this is an area that gets very angry when I try a true ATG. Today I just did 2 XTG after a usual WTG and my neck looks great. I can still feel stubble there but that may just be what I live with to stay irritation free. First shave with a badger brush in a while and even though I used my only 2-band I still missed the backbone from my boars that I'm breaking in.
