I was whipping the lather on my face and seeing just how big this mountain of lather was going to get...Finally I look just like the guy on the wrapper...Love It!
I did one pass when the door-bell rings...lunch is here....I eat and come back to finish, when I notice...That one pass is a perfect DFS...Just perfect...No need for anything else...Only....Is that a Baby I hear ?...LOL
Yes!! I do one ATG pass and the BBS has made the scene in all its glory...

I starting to get the feel of the tech now and it's not feeling so unnatural. This last shave on this blade was the best. Amazingly smooth except around the chin. I just can't seem to get a few trouble spots, even with buffing, with this razor & blade combo. I have a Ladas on tap for tomorrow.

I went with the L'Occitane Cade SS last night in anticipation of the L'Occitane event tonight. I just PIF'd my extra puck of this soap and am considering getting another. Across the street there's a thread about a Cade Challenge. Some folks described problems getting it to lather well but in the 3 times I've used it, I have had no problems getting gobs of awesome lather.

Since I've starting using a pre-lather as a prep, my face has never felt so smooth and soft.

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
Lather: De Vergulde Hand "Extra fris" - face lather
    Brush: Semogue 1438
    Razor: Schick I1 Injector
Blade: Chinese Schick (2); 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

Another splendid shave from the I1 & Chinese Schick combo. The 1438 doesn't seem to be breaking in as quickly as the 820. I needed to reload it a tiny bit for my final pass. Definitely not a problem, rather an easy way to tell how the break in is coming along.

Not the best ever but maybe second best and I predict todays shave using IM will be even better.
Shaved with it at 5 and I am tempted to go 9 and just learn to shave with it set there. A little steeper of a learning curve but the end result will be mastery of this razor.;)
    Any thoughts on this?

    Thursday

    Soak Brush/Savile Row 3824
    Hot Shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
    Arko Shave Stick (face lathered)
    Muhle R41 Grande/Feather (3)
    Cold Water Rinse
Monster Block Alum (clean brush, razor, police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
Pitralon Classic splash followed 30 minutes later with Feather Kanwa

I got no respect from the R41/Feather combo. It was a rough shave, so rough I had to scrape myself off of the ceiling when I applied the alum.No weepers but I did get some burn on my neck.I did a 3 pass WTG,I did get a BBS but once again I should have quit at 2 passes.I know others like the R41/Feather combo, and I like Feathers in just about any razor, but in the R41 it was brutal from shave 1,YMMV for sure.

    Thursday AM:

Pre: Hot Shower, Tabac SC + Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (3)
    Cream: European Palmolive
    Brush: Omega 10005
Post: Thayers WH Lemon, Clubman AS, RSC Balm

Todays shave was excellent everywhere, except for the upper lip. I suppose I should have let it heal up a bit before I tried ATG up there again, so tis my own doing, but aside from 3 weepers, and it being sensitive up there, the rest is great. No irritation anywhere else, and darn near smooth too.

    Have a good day all!

It's been awhile since I've used the Maca Root Shaving Cream and I'm still impressed as always with the great cushion and glide that the lather produces.

Used CyanideMetal's tip: first a few whisks with the brush on the puck, and then a good face rubbing. Rich, foamy lather was the result. And a DFS++. Thanx, Randy!

Such a good shave I haven't felt the need to change anything other than the blade after it wears out.

I'll have to get back to the OCMM sooner or later, but I've been enjoying this set up a lot recently. Just dropped my 4th fresh Perma-Sharp in the razor for tomorrows shave.

    Thursday 5th April

First post of the week as I have been in Ireland sorting out a few Family issues. At the beginning of the week I used what I keep at my parents house. By a pure coincidence ...it fitted in with Tech week as I ended up using Arko soap with a #6 Turkish brush and a Feather Portable loaded with an IP blade . Today was back to normal.

    Hot shower and Facial Scrub
    3P Pre/post cream
    Feather Artist Club SS
New Forest 2222 High Mountain Badger.
    Florena Shaving cream
Witchazel mixed with Arko Classic cream
    Clubman Vanilla AS
    Scent from Heaven Vanilla EDT

A BBS shave with 2 passes and a touch up. While the Feather portable is an excellent razor.....I did miss my straights. I must post a shavette to my parents, as I usually travel hand luggage only.

Thursday morning shave. I cheated and went to Ideal Barber Shop in Jonesboro, Arkansas. For $12 I received an amazing shave by Chaung an incredible barber!!!

First was a hot towel prep
then hot lather prep and whisker massage
    Hot towel applied again
hot lather applied again and massaged in
    3rd hot towel applied
    hot lather applied and massaged
She used a Fromm 5/8 straight razor fresh stropped. Took her time pulling the skin tight and making nice slow strokes. It was pure elegance!!!
She made multiple passes to a near BBS!! very relaxing
Hot towel applied and warm lather again
    cold water rinse
cold water towel and unknown after shave balm applied
face, forehead, neck, shoulders, arms and back massaged
    Clubman talc applied
Col. Conk Bay Rum AS Applied.

I just about fell asleep in the chair!! 45 minutes of bliss!! Anytime anyone of you are close to Jonesbore, AR I highly recommend the Ideal Barbershop traditional straight shave!!!! Well worth it! It was just a great shave and pure relaxation.
