    Tuesday

Hot Shower + Noxema Face Cream
    Proraso Pre-Shave
VDH Deluxe, palm lathered w/ pure badger
    '73 Black Handle SS w/ Voskhod (4)
    Warm + Cold Water Rinse
    Witch Hazel w/ Alum
    Nivea Anti-Irritation ASB

Quick 2 pass shave this morning as I was in a rush. I was sporting about 4 days of growth so I had to shave. The Voskhod swiped through like it was new. Not the best way to lather the VDH imo, kinda dry, but I was in a hurry, and it worked. I just picked up that Nivea ASB and it is very nice. We'll see if it holds up through the day like the moisture cream does.

    Tuesday:

    Soak Brush/Shavemac 167 D01 2 band
    Hot Shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
    DB Original Scuttle
    Tabac shave soap
    Gillette SS/Red IP (1)
    Cold Water Rinse
Monster Block Alum (clean hardware & software, police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
Tabac splash mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

Wonderful 3 pass face 1 pass headshave with the Super Speed, very smooth.Maybe not as smooth as my Feather AS-D1 but certainly more efficient. With the Feather I usually need to touch up my head, the Gillette needed no touch up.Three great shaves in a row,I think I'm gonna do a 2 week rotation with the Joris,Cobra Classic and the Gillette SS and see how it goes.

Pre: eShave Verbena Lime PreShave Oil
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Brush: Semogue 1305
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3)
    Soap/Cream: Tabac SS
Post: 5Savages After Shave (witch hazel, rum, Tabac cologne)
AS: Every Man Jack Signature Mint Face Lotion

Awesome shave but a bit of burn afterwards. This officially ends my 2 blade test of the Rapira Swedes and they're a keeper. Now we back the Personna Labs for one blade to reestablish my baseline and then I think I'm going to try a Dorco.

I'm having trouble with the performance of this Semogue. The night before I used my badger brush with the Tabac and had huge pillows of lather to use. Last night I had the worst lather I have ever had with Tabac. I soaked the brush for 30 minutes, shook the water out (forgot to let it just drip out as Johnny suggested) loaded up a ton and found the lather to be thick, but dry. No problem, I thought, I'll just ad water. But, no matter how much water I added (but dripping a few drop into the knot at a time), the lather didn't improve much. I finally gave up and took the first pass.

On the second pass, with my rinsed face still dripping wet, the lather now went on very thin, and too hydrated. I went back to the bowl for more soap but never really got anything I would call a good lather. The end result was great, but not very satisfying. I sure hope this brush gets better with breaking in. I'll certainly stick with it for now.

Yes it is definitely addicting. Still had a few previous nicks reopen, based on additional reading I am beginning to wonder if I should try another blade. I've read that the 7 O'Clock Gillette's are really sharp similar to Feathers. But I am loving the me time while shaving! :eatdrink013:
