I felt so fresh after this mornings 45 minute shave, I headed out, grabbed a coffee and sat outside my barber's, 1/2 an hour early waiting for him to open. I was in his chair for another 45 minutes, and now I'm ready for a relaxed weekend of NHL playoffs and BBQ!

ps. after getting groceries and making a couple other stops, I still got home before SWMBO was awake!

Man I love Saturday mornings when I need a haircut :happy088:

Busy day today, the last Saturday of the month a team from our church cooks a meal at the local Rescue Mission. My wife and I and another couple prepare meal. Others help us serve. Our pastor did the church service today. We served about 140 plates.

Our menu was roast pork with carrots and onions, roasted potatoes, green beans and rolls. For dessert we had Coconut and Chocolate cake.

I watch this little girl with red curly hair just chowing down she was so cute to watch her eat. It is such a blessing to serve those in need.

Hope everyone's weekend is going great.

The rain stopped long enough for the autism walk. We stopped to eat and had a good morning.

The post office is holding some of my packages in an endless, arrival at unit, out for delivery, arrival at unit loops....

I twisted my ankle somehow. I don't recall doing it, but it is swolen and painful. Thankfully that happened after the walk.

Had a good day. Got to see my niece and watch my nephew play video games. Played a little basketball... literally fell on my face twice, got a grass stain on my new shorts... life is good!

what a carpy day. I need prayer.

Here's the short version: 1) had two long and unpleasant conversations with church members. 2) in between those conversations (they were hours apart) I got into a car accident on the way home from picking up my daughter at school. A woman was taking a left turn into my lane, didn't see me, and caught the driver's side back quarter panel on her front bumper. Tore her bumper off. No one was injured, but the impact scraped up my car and pulled out that back panel about a quarter inch. I'm gonna have it checked out to make sure it's okay, but I think it is. 3) my wife is due to deliver our third child on May 17th (yay!). She's had a series of minor illnesses and back problems lately that have incapacitated her. (boo!) I feel more tired and stretched thin than I ever have in my life. Please pray for me.

EDIT: forgot the part about the woman speaking no English and me speaking no Spanish. Thankfully, her daughter arrived and translated. They just wanted to call it even and I just went with it. Not sure I did the right thing but it's done now.

    Prayin' for ya, Man!

Father, bless Your son and his family. I thank You that you kept everyone safe in the accident. And I pray for a safe and healthy delivery for his wife and baby. Bless him with strength to endure and the wisdom to handle what ever may come his way. You promise when we are weak, You are strong. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Mike - I have prayed and will continue to pray for you and your family.

I've also been told GOD never gives you more than you can handle. I even suspect it's true.

Glad to hear you're okay, Mike.

You may or may not have done the "right" thing (I'd suspect not, too), but you may have likely did the "best" thing

[serious] In my life I have trouble separating "right" and "best." I get into a lot of trouble because of that. [/serious]

The more I think about it, something else was going on. The other driver may not have had insurance, may have been illegal, or both. Living in the RGV is an adventure.

Thanks for your prayers everyone. They're greatly appreciated!

yeah, that's kinda what I meant....and yeah, I always hate that gray area of "right" vs "best"
