    Agreed, there were plenty worse episodes, especially if we start going beyond TNG.

    Yeah, they would have been way much better if it didn't take until almost the end of the series to get rid of Wesley.

    For me the litmus test of how awful an episode of TNG was going to be is in the directing credit. If Frakes directed, it would be too much credit to call it a flaming horse turd of an episode--after all a flaming horse turd at least gives off useful heat. If Burton directed it, put on your safety gear because your head might explode from all the awesome.
