Thank you Noob.. I thought so. And if memory serves, I do recall the now iconic phrase "resistance is futile" emanating from that same Who episode...
It was fun a few months back watching the old DW episodes and waiting.....waiting......waiting for them to say it. They actually used "resistance is..." quite often. But only rarely used "futile" at the end.
Not quite...LOL! I still need to mention SG1 and......"Earth 2". Now how many of you have seen that show? I pretty much cried when they ended it!
Earth 2? Yep. I watched the pilot episode when it aired. Didn't watch any more after that, but not because it was a bad series. The station that aired it put the episodes on at weird times. 4 in the afternoon and such. I missed SG-1 the series when it first aired. We didn't have the sci-fi channel. I'm starting to catch up on it now through Netflix streaming. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, though. As long as we're naming and shaming SF series, then what about Seaquest DSV? I know that I watched many episodes of that show but I can barely remember any of it. That tells me it it wasn't very good.
Am a fan of Star Gate. The show was good and even though it seemed to model itself after the Trek, in a way taking over after ST officially ended, in a lot of ways it also became quite distinctive. I do however have a hard time with their lack of a universal translator justification for all those aliens speaking perfect English. And the original movie with Kurt Russel, IMO is a sci fi classic..and we haven't even touched on films ..yet..
Well I think you could make that argument for each of the series though. Each had some great episodes and some positively awful ones. And yet your puns are stuck warming the bench. But all aliens speak perfect English. Except Klingons. What a bunch non-conformists.
firefly was awesome. it's a tragedy that it was cut short. if you liked firefly you might like Dollhouse. Another that hasn't been mentioned- Babylon 5. Seasons 1 to 4 were awesome. The final 5th season stunk to high heaven.
