Aftershaves Still Sold in Glass Bottles

I've been contemplating getting an aftershave splash for those mornings when I need a bit of a sting to wake me up. However, I know Aqua Velva uses a plastic bottle now. The question is simple: What aftershaves are still sold in glass bottles and not outrageously priced?

Very few aftershaves meet your criteria. You can just buy the plastic bottle and decant the aftershave into a glass bottle.

The expensive designer label ones. If you happen to like the cheaper stuff (like me) you buy the glass bottle on ebay for $5-10 and the brass decanting funnels on amazon for about $3-4, and pour the stuff out of the plastic into the glass. Oh, and Floid comes in a HUGE glass bottle. Lucky Tiger might still come in a glass bottle. Everything just goes up from there.

Nivea Moisturizing Balm is the last of the common glass bottled aftershaves and I expect to see that one go soon as well.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe those meet his criteria. Considering Aqua Velva was mentioned in the original post, I'd say we're talking similar price range, and those two aren't.

I'd guess the thing to do at this point is to ask Ryan what his definition of "not outrageously priced" would be.

Good point. I was hooked on AS you could find easily that came in a bottle. I forgot all about the price difference of the two.

I would be willing to go for Proraso or Speick. Those are two scents not commonly found here on this side of the pond. Does the Speick smell like the cream? (I have some Speick shave cream.)

Gillette Cool Wave - available at Walmart and other discount shops
Aubrey Organics - contains witch hazel, about $10, comes in 3 scents

Myrsol gives the option. The plastic bottles hold slightly more and the distributors claims the shipping costs for 3 plastic are the same as for 2 glass

I went to a local craft shop and got a few bottles for $1.49 each with corks in them. Works perfectly. Also, the dollar store in your area may have some vases that are small enough to work as bottles, too (it's what I have my AquaVelva in right now).

I was at Walmart Saturday and saw that they sell a Nivea Energy After Shave splash that comes in glass bottle. It's about $4.66 I think.

I don't quite buy into the whole "energy" thing for faces though. I mean...what if my face got energized but the rest of my body still wanted to lazy? What would I do then?

I saw that the other day at CVS. There's taurine in it, and that's pretty ridiculous. I guess when I wake up tired I should bathe in Red Bull not drink it?

Just curious, does the glass bottle really make that much of a difference?

I like glass because it has a nice feel to it.
Also I believe the scent can turn faster in plastic; glass is better in the long term because it is non-permeable.

When Old Spice was sold by Shulton, the new owners soon switched out the glass bottles for plastic. Shortly afterward, sensitive noses noticed a difference, the new formulation of Old Spice Classic contains more anise scent to try to counteract the plastic smell...what does that tell you?

I actually just put some aftershaves in glass, and so far the scents seem mostly the same. But after a week I will try to compare.
