He did it again!! In last night's soccer game, for the second game in a row, my son scored a goal on a punt, while playing goalkeeper. We now play his punts like a corner kick...the ball is just coming from a different direction.

Today is my wife's last day of work before summer break. She is going out with some of her co-workers after work for a girls' night out, which means that from 4:00 on I get to have a daddy day with our 1-year old son!

We cleaned out sand filters yesterday at work. Something an engineer only has to participate in at a small company. When I did this about a year ago, I was exhausted afterwards. Yesterday, I ran three miles a couple hours later. I'm definitely in the best shape of my life and that proved it to me.
A vessel filled with sand that filters out stuff from the liquid you pass through it (in our case salty water). We normally clean it by flowing water backward through the filters, but eventually stuff builds up on the sand and the water doesn't flow so easily and the sand needs to be replaced.

Ditto! I spent part of today on a Teachers' field trip to a local beach, where we studied & tagged horseshoe crabs.
