I've been looking for something exactly like. How's the texture inside the bowl? That would be perfection if it has a good rough texture inside the bowl to really break up the soap and get some good agitation going to make the lather explode.

That design of yours with that awesome handle with the inner texture of a Suribachi mortar bowl (seen below) would be perfection for me.

Unfortunately the swirls in the bottom aren't very pronounced, so it doesn't work as well as I suspect the Suribachi does. But it does work better than the oversized cocoa mug I have been using:) If your interested I can see if they have any more, but I won't have a day off until Wed.

Don't make any special trips.. just next time you're there or in the area with some free time. Mind sharing what the bowl cost you?

Two new Faves. from Razorock, the sandalwood is still a little lacking in the scent area, but still a little more than Third Eye, but the Sandalwood AS has a really nice scent, a little stronger and more recognizable. The Green Tobacco, well hard to describe, does have a light hint of tobacco in it with some spiciness, its definitely something worth trying and is probably my favorite between the two. Both soaps lather as expected and the AS's preform just as good as the AS Waxes, but have a more refined and masculine scents than the somewhat medicine cabinet scent in the waxes. Plus the scent of the new AS seems to stick around for a while. All in all, hats off to Razorock on this one!!

I don't mind at all Jody, it was $5 and there was one left the other day. Trust me it won't be a special trip because the town I live in is small, if you live near it(which I do)you are literally no more than 10 miles from everything in town(farther out in the county is different matter). I also paid $5 for the brush, which may have been to much, but I looked at it as buying some good will with the ladies who run the place. That may help on future deals with them, couldn't hurt:)

The Zi' Peppino is my favorite of all 4 of the new soaps. I actually have the Nonno on deck for the morning. These soaps are the best I've found for me.

Congrats on a great haul, I think you'll love using them for quite some time.

    Sounds just like my town!

Have you taken any measurements of the bowl? I'm curious as to the depth and the inside width at the bottom and the top. I'm talking to someone who does custom pottery who I may get to make me one like yours except with the Japanese Suribachi pattern on the inside.

    alpla444 That's sweet!

That brush would look great with a new knot, a boar one would only be cheap, sweet looking handle

The bowl is 4" inside dia. at the top, 2.5" at the bottom, and 2 3/8" deep. Good luck with custom bowl. I may have to get in touch with the lsdy who made my bowl to see about getting one like that.

It's only 2 3/8" deep? It looks much deeper than that in the photos. I was guessing about 3.5" to 4" deep from the photo.

I double checked it and that is the right depth, for perspective that is a Shea Moisture brush sitting in it. I agree it does look bigger than it is.
