    Try painting a little acetone (or nail polish remover) on those cracks in the plastic. When it softens, squeeze together, then use a small spatula to smooth it. Keep clamped until it's dry.

    woo hoo! a big A#$ package was waiting for me on Monday; All soaps came in glass anchor bowls w/lids from Target;

    Truefitt & Hill Luxury Soap
    Harris Arlington Soap(thankfully, this one is NOT defective and lathers like mad)
    Taylors Sandalwood Soap (my first Tobs soap)
    Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet soap (we'll see if this tops my floris)

    One new tub Castle Forbes Lavender shaving cream

    And from ebay;

    1 15% glycolic acid face wash (this stuff has been amazing so far)

    Yes. I've used that technique a few times, most recently on a couple of old Schick E-2 razors that had cracks in the plastic handle where it joins the head.
    The acetone just softens the plastic and then you can re-mold it.

    Hiya Joshua, wow, thats quite a delivery. You should be in shaving bliss for quite some time LOL. I'm really interested to hear how you like these soaps, especially the Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet soap. Also, how it compares to your Floris.

    I just used my Floris JF soap this morning and was not disapointed. Congrat's.

    Floris soap = :drool The JF scent is great, but I'm not too sure about the elite just yet.

    Bar none, the only soap that I've found to perform just as much protection as a cream but still allows me to get a closer shave as most soaps allow.

    Thanks Fritz, I'll give that a try. Nothing lost if it doesn't work.

    If I knew how to work in wood, this would be a great project to make new handles with a plastic sleeve insert in the top. Kind of like new scales on a str8. Oh well.

    You're not the only one. I have to "restock" my soaps. I also got some peppermint on Issy's recommendation to use after I do my mid day work when I'm trying to shower and cool out before going back to my desk. The peppermint soap should help speed up the cool out process.

    JAMES !!!! I almost smashed my screen here cuz of your Avatar!

    Hilarious ! :rofl
    But I had problems here in the studio with exactly the same size bugs being drawn to my screen at nights when watching a movie and the buggers got in because of a window I had open all day.. :eek:

    Sorry to tell ya Way Crap creams what ever you paid you paid too much,
    nothing too natural ingredients with the Derby Creams... their blades are ok the Creams..can go to the toilet.... my Humble opinion.. wanna get started into creams go

    - Euro Palmolive
    -VGH
    -Erasmic
    -Musgo Real.

    the better starting creams not too $$$$ and way less toxic then Derby.
    I once got the Menthol to try for free,, the only Menthol is on the package to be found.
    that said YMMV as always,,,

    I got a couple French gems today:

    Pre de Provence shave soap :drool
    Institut Karite aftershave balm

    Just tried them both, have to say I'm very happy with this purchase. The sage smell of the Pre de Provence soap is great and unlike any other in my rotation, excellent lather too :happy088

    Everything is in the ritual. Here’s my new pipe tool. It’s a true Laguiole, made of stainless sandvik and ebony. Includes poker, scraper and tamper. Me happy. :D
