  4. Awesome afternoon. We had a short thunderstorm that dropped some rain, helping with the fires and clearing up the air at my house. The clear air allowed me to go on a run with my foot that is just feeling better. I was feeling rather stiff from not running for couple days and everything is much looser now.
  5. That is AWESOME!

  7. More awesome news! My husband got word that the FDNY will be hiring him as an EMT. He starts in 2 & a half weeks.
  8. Congrats, that is awesome.
  9. Happy to hear it!..:2thumbs:
  10. Taking the "Ambulance chaser" thing way to literally?:D
  11. I thought she already caught him? ;)
  12. Yes he is. We have made more than our share of jokes around here. And thanks for the good wishes.
  13. Press kits and advertising promotions probably used up the other 50.
  14. This morning I went out with my girls and went to some music stores. I have an interest in playing the banjo, so instead of just talking about it, I went out to see if I would even like playing the thing. The guy at the store taught me the 3 main chords and left the room so I could 'jam' by myself.

The more I played it the more fun I had. I left with a smile on my face and a hope that soon I would be renting the banjo when I can afford it. (Cheaper than buying).

I mentioned it to my wife, and all she did was smile and call me adorable...so I hope that's a yes! Anyway, here is a pic of a similar make. Its the Gold Tone Cripple Creek 100 (with resonator).

  16. *ahem*... typically, this means "I can't believe that you're this daft, but I'm not going to discuss it with you now." :D
  17. Yep. After 30 years of marriage (and still going strong), that's how I read it!

  18. Good for you Luke! That's a nice rig you got there..those Gold Tones aren't bad. Long before I took up the blues guitar..lol and heavy metal..I played a pretty decent Scruggs style bluegrass Banjo. There is an impossibly difficult sound to describe that was inherent in all the 1950's Gibson Mastertones which makes them amazing for bluegrass picking. I was always trying to get an ax with that sound. Not sure what style you want to do, but whichever the GT will probably be ok. Also getting a teacher helps to get things together I find.. and who knows you could end up like these guys..

  19. Jeff and I did our first foray into geocaching today. WOW was that a fun time! We found the cache within the first two miles but continued on (for a total of four miles). We encountered alligators (three juveniles and an ADULT), several herons, some ducks ( I don't recall their names) and a pair of Sandhill cranes with a BABY who was just beyond losing it's orange down, and lots of fish. It was a great time.

We found the cache and will go back out tomorrow to find two more on trails close to our home.

    Awesome! :D
