Rock is up... [vbpg]795[/vbpg] Gotta cover up the mistakes... [vbpg]796[/vbpg] I may have to designate this as Bill's Dog House [vbpg]797[/vbpg] Yes, there's bug screen behind the holes [vbpg]798[/vbpg] Door framing [vbpg]799[/vbpg] I am in like Flynn with this keyless entry. Is that modern, or what? [vbpg]800[/vbpg]
Nice job, Bill ! In your "hood" You could rent that out for about $2000 a month, I figure. ....BTW. Dont you ever sleep ?
Well... Let's see. The couple just west of me broke up right after they moved in. Had been married about 15 years and she decided to not let life pass her by... found a boyfriend. He's not around much. I wind up cutting his grass and pulling his weeds most of the time. The couple that bought the house directly to the east couldn't move in because the gal started having problems with her pregnancy and had to stay near her doctor. He is a police officer. They rented the house to a college professor who taught criminology. Except they were weird... really weird. Their kids were just as bad. The 4 year-old girl still wasn't potty trained, sucked her thumb, and ran around bare-assed all the time. They wound up moving out, owing the owners 3 months rent. Criminology college professor, remember? The new carpet was ruined from where the girl crapped on it all the time. I haven't met the tenants who just moved in yet. I can hardly wait. The house directly across from me and to the right has a single 40's mom who lets her large dog come crap in my yard all the time. It stopped when I started picking it up and leaving it on her porch. She don't like me much. Like, I f*&^)%# care. The people directly across from me are young renters. They are nice enough. They have celebrations/parties all the time where people are always parking in front of my house and leaving trash behind when they leave. Too big of an age difference to be pals, for sure. She's always losing her car keys and having to call someone out get her car running. How does a person lose car keys, anyway? Twice a month? Across the street and to the left is a family of 6. He complains to me how he is tired of picking up rubbers from his back yard. He bought a german shepherd dog that barks incessantly to know when the boys are sneaking by to get some. Oh, their 14 year-old just had an abortion. After I found out that she and her 12 year-old sister mock my wife because of her nice clothes and professional demeanor, I quit giving the family things that we should have gotten tax deductions for. The last thing I gave them was a TV I paid $650 for two years ago. It needed a $15 part to function properly. They sold it. The twins are about 7 years old. Both of them have rotten teeth from lack of a good diet. No one there eats vegetables. They call my wife, "Stuck up nose lady." Wonder where they got that from? Oh, and their other "pug" dog comes over to do his business in my yard all the time. The guy across the street and one more house to the west is one who speeds through the neighborhood all the time and plays his rap music so loud, you could hear it a mile away. Seriously... a mile. I politely asked him to slow down and lower his music. He told me, "They have earplugs." Oh yeah. I'm ready to move.
Nice neighborhood you live in Bill. Must be near Fresno. Stolen car capital of the world. Really nice job on the doghouse. I could put one of my horses in there. Don't you just love neighbors? Actually, mine aren't too bad. It the ones down around the end of the street that need some polite talking to. They feel the need for speed and I feel the need to blow out one of their tires. :rofl
yeah mp3 encoding to the Rescue !!!!! I hate mp3's but they do save you room compared to storing that much vinyl.
Im getting sleepless just watching the progress is this all like in one week ! jesus he is flying... Nice solution of the door no Key. very good now make sure to put some electric current on it aswell for those thiefs that think to take a peek a boo.
Oh man... couldnt stop roflD that is bad ! 14 year and ! darn ! Big dog Poopoo's. then Family from Hell with again poopoo. Then little girl of 4 who does Poopoo. I see a trend here and you wont like it Bill !!!!! Oh I need to sit down after reading all this....
Hi Bill, I have been keeping up with the progress of this thread and have enjoyed the photos as you have proceed. One question though and it's probably a bit stupid but...........the shape of the roof, what made you go that way with the design of it compared to say a standard pitched roof? As an ex chippie myself I'm just sort of curious. You are doing a great job of it by the way. Cheers John
Twofold... One, I really like the look. And two, it gives me room for a lot more storage. Got the primer coat of paint on the outside and finished with the joint compound on the inside. I'm getting closer. Then I get to fill it up.
Great job Bill!! drool:drool It looks fantastic! The descriptions of your neighbors was great rofl, sorry I wouldn't think it was too funny if I were you though...Guess I am pretty lucky as my neighbors are normal and pretty cool.
Are you going to texture and paint the sheetrock inside? Maybe a lattice skirt around the bottom Will birds be able to go into your vent holes in the soffet?
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the distance between the bottom of the shed and the ground. My primary goal would to discourage any varmints from making that area a home. Don't want any wasps to get any ideas either. Do they nest that low, by the way? Birds in soffit holes? See post #61
Before watching Fresno State beat San Jose today, I finished painting the inside. Also got the floor done, as well. [vbpg]815[/vbpg] Gotta put in some more shelving now [vbpg]816[/vbpg] Could not have done it without supervision [vbpg]818[/vbpg] Can I touch it, Dad? Can I? I didn't have to clean up the small stuff... she ate it. [vbpg]817[/vbpg]
Hello Bill, nice work. Your bird holes can be filled by going to a hardware store and getting some little screened inserts that will pop in nice and pretty. Got mine from a Truevalue here in Tracy. And you can keep the critters out by making a skirt around the outside with some plywood. Don't forget to back prime it before hanging it! Prime all the edges also, and then paint the edges. Primer ain't water proof. Now, I'm gonna shut up and get back to work....
Starting to wind down so I can get back to a few razors before making the bookshelves for our computer room. Here is the screen no one could see in the other photos... [vbpg]822[/vbpg] The support system I used for the 2 x 3 skeleton shelving above the door. [vbpg]823[/vbpg] These wound up being much more flimsy than I wanted. But, they will have to do for now. [vbpg]824[/vbpg] Got to get rid of some of the clutter. These are 9-foot ceilings, by the way. [vbpg]825[/vbpg]
