Welcome new friend. At times DE shaving can seem discouraging but as long as you're patient and don't give it up you'll learn it. And don't hesitate to ask questions, all the folks here are real nice.
I forgot to add that when you get your Fatboy to make sure you have the silo doors open when you make adjustments.
Noticed that. Thanks. Thanks. Glad to be here, everyone. An update - Got the FB yesterday. It is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition. Have a concern about the slots where the blade edges are exposed. The gap is a bit wider on one end vs. the other. Will try to upload a pic so you can see what I mean... EDIT: Upload was not successful. Will try again later.
Was able to upload pics of the blade gap variance (see below for views of both sides). Looks like the guide bars are bent. Searched the web for methods on aligning the bars without disassembling the razor and found one that uses a flat bladed screwdriver to pry the bar and the other uses a flat edge to realign the bar. Not expecting to be spoon-fed here but am having a hard time visualizing the above mentioned techniques. Can anyone out there provide me with a little more detail or a how-to? Thanks in advance. JR Note narrower gap on Left Note narrower gap on Right
Thank you, JoAnna. Glad to be here. No worries about the question, I appreciate your response, nonetheless.
Thanks, ElliotR. Have you just started using more traditional shaving gear, too or are you just new to the site?
Just had my first shave with the FB this morning. Was able to fix it using advice I got elsewhere and the FB worked flawlessly! Just a smooth shave with no nicks or cuts. Just goes to say that new is not necessarily improved!
