New Orleans and all places north, eh? Now that's the deep Deep South. Any deeper and you're literally in the Gulf.
well... got back from Ohio this evening. Some interesting detours and backroads to avoid storm damage in southern Ohio. Not a bad trip, but a lot of drivers need too take lessons from Bob.
I'm gonna tell you a story... [old timey voice] in the olden days of yore, when I first started posting in the How's Your Day? thread (this was back when we still spelled it out) a certain member would cheerfully proclaim, "Hey everybody!" This was reminiscent of the joyful greeting expressed by a certain medical profession who attended the Holywood Upstairs Medical College. Reading this cheerful proclamation and being reminded of the certain medical professional, other members of The Shaving Den (again, this was back when we still spelled it out) would reply, "Hi Doctor Nick!" [/old timey voice] This is a long winded and silly way of saying I miss the "Hi Doctor Nick!" greeting and I wanted to see if anyone else remembered.
I'm too new to remember that, but I *am reminded* of that time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
I do recall that, and was tempted to respond in said way, but: Wasn't in the mood at the time for cheeriness, and: I'm not Ray
Well it was a great day, until a nice hefty gust of wind came in my window, caught the door and ripped half my toenail off. Sweet merciful crap that hurts. I think I won't be doing my 15km run tomorrow morning and will have a leisurely hobble to Tim Hortons for a coffee instead for my morning PT.
Mmmmm, penguin liver and onions.... You have my sympathies. Reminds me of work the past couple of weeks.
