8 1/2 hours of lectures on Active Directory. Please kill me. Well, I was playing solitaire for most of that since they had nothing to really teach me - least some of the other guys learned.

I'm thinking tomorrow is a pinball day, since it's scheduled to be VMWare "learning". 10 bucks says I teach the instructor something.

I also had an argument with our temporary instructor about the stupidity of us creating 4 vmware clients on a machine that has 1GB of RAM. Tomorrow should be bloody hilarious! Well, it theoretically could be fine but they're all Windows XP and Windows Server, not Linux installs...

eesh. I thought the working theory with Windows products was, "It's not gonna work the way it's supposed to." I say that as a total tech luddite with no experience running servers- but if they can't make Word work right, then how can they make Windows servers work right?

Actually, I believe the official MS party line is: "It's an undocumented feature." and "No matter what the problem, just reinstall the OS." Yeesh.

Oh don't get me wrong, Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008 are very solid operating systems, XP itself was actually probably the best OS that Microsoft ever released - I haven't used Windows 7 much at all so I can't comment on it vs XP. But the idea of throwing 2 Windows XP Clients and 2 Windows Server clients on a virtual environment with about 128MB of RAM each, is rather nauseating to me. Heck our Sergeants jaw dropped when I explained my VMWare servers at my unit have 128GB of RAM - guess what they get for schools versus a deployable unit varies extremely.

Hey sometimes they get extremely lucky and it's a really amusing undocumented feature.

I finally fixed that weird Geranium soap. Never use Geranium soap..well..not unless your particularly fond of bees. I added some Bergamont-Lavender oil blend to the mixing bowl and the bathroom's gone from flower shop to barber shop..:2thumbs:

Flower shop isn't necessarily a bad thing. Victorian manly men used many floral scents! Actually you'd be surprised at the old school soldier amount of lavender floating around here...yeesh.

Day 2 of anniversary trip went well. Breakfast was phenomenal. Picked up a cool late 40s typewriter for less than the ticketed price and had an awesome cornbread sandwich for lunch. Life is grand.
