  2. I could of swore I heard an echo in here...
  3. Have you been drinking mead tonight?
  4. Mom is starting to walk with a cane & taking a few unsupported steps.
  5. Went to an awesome concert last night with my wife. Not from last night, but here's a taste of The Travelin McCourys.

  6. Isn't there some kinda law against that? Hillbillies trying to sound hipster? :D ;)
  7. Well after two weeks I got fired from my new job and THANK GOD! That boss was one of the most passive-aggressive people I've ever met! Seriously nasty piece of work.
It made me realise how much I loved my old barbershop and I might even be able to get my job back there!

  8. Sorry the new job didn't work out, but best that you weren't stuck there indefinitely. I hope you can get back to your old shop.

For my awesome news, Mom is home from knee rehab today.

  10. A couple things. First off, my 16 year old daughter just got her first job as a waitress at a nearby cafe. She applied one day, was interviewed the next, and started the day after that. I told her this was great, but she wasn't crazy about the $5.25/hour start. She clearly didn't understand the effect tips would have because after one day, and calculating a $13/hour effect wage, she now loves it. Her friends are mostly making minimum. My daughter has a fantastic personality and I've always told her that waitressing would be a great choice for her until she gets started on her post-college career. Sometimes ol' dad is right.

Secondly, and even better, a few weeks ago I thought I was going to loose my 80 year old Dad. Between infection and extensive blood clots in his leg, it didn't look good. The good Lord and the doctors at the Mayo Clinic managed to turn things around, however and he ended up just losing two toes due to infection and he's in better spirits than I've seen him in in a long time.. This is an amazing outcome considering where we were started. When things were at their bleakest, I kept kicking myself thinking, "I wish I would have done this, and I wish we would have done that". Now I've got a chance to do those things and I'm so thankful.
  11. Erik,

Watch this space and you may be able to find a live recording of that show after a time:

  12. I'm sure it was for the best. Work sometimes is bad enough without a boss like that, even if you love your job.

Congrats to your daughter. I just found out my younger brother just found himself a job too. Only downside is he'll now miss the concert we were going to go to in a week because he'll be working that night, but such is the plight of the working man sometimes. [IMG]

Again congratulations, and you're right, that is even better news. It's not often that we get second chances like that. I'm certain I don't have to say it, but don't waste it even for a second.

  13. I just went for an "easy" run tonight and did 6 miles. I can't believe 6 miles felt easy, but I love it.

@Pat - Awesome on everything. Thank you for sharing.
  14. I cleaned my wood floors today for the first time with no streaking, that is Awesome.

I never knew how good microfiber was at cleaning everything. I just plug one into my Swiffer ... no streaks! :happy093:

  17. Yesterday was annual psychical and also had an appointment to see the Nutritionist.
It was early morning fasting blood work, Dr appointment afterwards.
The good news was that my overall cholesterol was 112. I have added yoga to my water aerobics. I have severe Arthritis throughout my back and knees.
The exercise has helped me get back some range of motion. I was able to squat, touch my toes, almost fully extend my arms. Something I was unable to do a year ago.
I have been working with a Nutritionist on my obesity. In February, I made a decision to lose weight, changing my eating habits watching my fat intake too. In February I weighed in at 251, yesterday my weight was 222.
    I had two awesome appointments.

  18. Microfiber kicks butt! Often times you just need to use it with water. Now try them on your windows.
  19. Already did. :)

    My sliders look awesome!
  20. Went for a six mile walk tonight after wife got home from a class. I took a path that went through a bit of woods. As I was walking through at about 10:30 PM I noticed that the trees were sparkling with all the fireflies. Just walking through there reminded me of my youth and I felt young and giddy again. (of course after the six mile walk, I am feeling anything but young)
