Friday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/new Rapira Derbylux SC Gillette Series Intense Cooling AS Balsam Alt Innsbruck AS Versace L'homme EDT BBS again and with so little effort - a new Rapira in my Super Speed gave me such a great shave, along with a nice cooling effect from the Derbylux cream, which is from Hungary. There aren't too many Gillette products that I like, but this aftershave balsam is one of them. Thank goodness Fendrihan's sells Alt Innsbruck, because I'll need to find another bottle soon.

SOTD Friday July 13, 2012 Prep: Tepid Water Shower, Brush soaking in hot water Razor: FaTip Grande with Sabi T3 Handle Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum Brush: Vie-Long LE Beehive Horse Hair Soap: Tabac AS: British Sterling Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave. One of the few handles that fits on my FaTip is the Sabi T3. Many people do not like the shape, nor the smooth finish, but I love it. It is a very heavy handle and by holding it the bottom you really do have the weight doing all of the work for you. The Supermax Super Plats and FaTip are an ideal combition for my beard, as the razor just plows throw my course whiskers like a hot knife through butter. After my first pass (ATG) I had a DFS, which is more than I can say over almost any other razor/blade combo. The Vie-Long LE Beehive, which I have nicknamed "the pumpkin" is becoming one of my favorite brushes. It retains water so well that I do not need to add any addtional water to the bowl after loading the brush. The Tabac has completely changed my mind about soaps. I typically only use soaps to load the brush before adding cream to build an Ă¼berlather. I have always been a fan of creams, but the Tabac out performs 90% of most creams that I have tried. Two passes and light buffing gave me an almost BBS. Today is going to be a great Friday the 13th.
July 13 2012 Schick L Type injector Schick blade Omega "faux ivory" boar brush Kiss My Face unscented s/c M & L Florida Water Rochas e de c That old Gooderman razor bit me hard on the chin yesterday, so I had to shave around a cut today, and I like the injector for that. Three passes in cold water and a clean-up on the neck got me a nice shave with no further damage. Have a great day, all! Graham

SOTD Friday 7-13-2012 (The dreaded Friday the 13th!) 5/8 Crown Razor Co., Full Hollow, Spike Point Proraso PSC Classic Shaving Jasmine SS in Lord Nelson Scuttle Omega Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Nivea ASB Royal Copenhagen Musk ASL I love the scent of the Jasmine SS! I also have a bar of Jasmine Glycerine soap in the shower. The Jasmine scent doesn't have the following that many other scents have and I always wondered why. I guess there are others out there that share my appreciation for this scent because it is still being produced. To me it is a very clean scent that reminds me of the Far East.
Friday The 13th: soak brush/Semogue SOC/heat up DB Brush Scuttle warm shower Proraso PrePost cream GFT Coconut Oil SS (face lathered) Joris 1912T/Polsilver (1) Cold Water Rinse/Ice Cube Rub Monster Block Alum Cold Water Rinse/Ice Cube Rub Thayer's WH mixed with 3 drops M-Bomb Vitos Aftershaving splash mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 This was the first time I used the Joris with a Polsilver, wow what a smooth close shave.I did my 2 pass face,1 pass head and now I'm sorry I didn't try a Polsilver sooner.I've tried the Polsilver in some of my razors with mixed results. Some razors I really liked the Polsilver and some not so much. But with the Joris it was one of the smoothest shaves I've had,up there with Iridium Super and Gillette Blacks.
Bruce I never really thought to look for a Jasmine based soap or splash,it's one of my favorite scents and while I'm a big coffee drinker I do enjoy jasmine tea.
Friday: Razor - Gillette 1958 TV Special Superspeed Blade - Vintage Pontiac carbon steel (5) Brush - Simpsons Colonel in Best Lather - La Toja stick A/S - Thayers witch hazel Frag. - Erolfa by Creed
Gerry, I get my Jasmine SS from Classic Shaving (both mug pucks and scuttle pucks) but, I would imagine there are other suppliers that carry that scent as well. The bath soap, I get at the local grocery store for $1.00 a bar; very reasonable! After showering with the green "Lifebouy" (Irish Spring) I soap up with the glycerine Jasmine soap and it leaves a nice scent along with the moisturizing effect of the glycerine. Check it out at your local grocery and give it a try.
Friday Pre (Eucerin, luke-warm shower) Omega 10083 Pro boar T&H Ultimate Comfort SC Merkur 23c w/ Astra SP Post (Cetaphil Gentle, cold water rinse, Nivea Sensitive Lotion) Master Bay Rum (what else?) Solid DFS by means of wtg, xtg, no-touch-up. I'm a soap dude , through and through, but my T&H UC cream is great stuff ... it wanted some attention. I really do need to try the other Bay Rum only AS/body splashes (Superior 70, Dominica, etc). Master Bay Rum definitely works and scent aggravation is not an issue here for me. Have a great weekend everyone!
