Wednesday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/new Rapira Viking Blue Ice SC (Russian version) Gillette Series Intense Cooling AS Balsam Osage Rub AS Grey Flannel EDT A new Rapira in my Super Speed gave me such a great BBS shave and it was so comfortable. The Russian version of Viking Blue Ice cream has a much more manly scent than the original Bulgarian version which has been discontinued, and the lather is super-rich and easy to work with. It also has a very good cooling sensation. The Gillette Intense Cooling balsam and the Osage Rub delivered on the post-shave icicles very well. My wife loves the scent of the Grey Flannel when I wear it - she tells me that she finds it sexy!

Wednesday Thank goodness it's Wednesday! I'm already exhausted and ready for the weekend! This is last nights shave. I shaved as my girls played in the tub. The SOTQ went nice with the Mandom, it seemed to have citrus scents as I lathered it. The only bad thing was the blade was too dull. I had only used it twice, so I am thinking it was a dud. Other than that it was a decent shave.
July 25, 2012 Case "Chromic" 5/8ths, full hollow, spike point Omega boar brush VDH Deluxe s/s M&L Florida Water a/s 4711 e de c Went a bit overboard with the soap this AM and wound up with lather that you could have patched concrete with. Once it had been thinned down a bit the shave went OK, but it started out rough. Have a great day, everyone. Graham

Blind Blade Test, Shave of the Day (SOTD) Wednesday July 25, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in hot water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9 Blade: Unknown Blade 2, Shave 2 Brush: VIe-Long LE Beehive Natural Horse Hair Soap: Tabac AS: Pinaud Clubman Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave. Day five of the blind blade test, which is the 2nd shave with blade number 2. Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experince. At the end of the test, I will be posting my complete daily journal which I will share on Google docs for those interested. All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave. I am normally a twice per day shaver, not because I have some magically beard but because I enjoy shaving and I hate to feel even the slightest amount of stubble. Before returning to classic shaving I did not think twice about the amount of stubble on my face, where now I am obsessed. During the testing period I have removed my nightly shave from the equation. With shaving only once per day I am noticing little nuisances that I may have over looked before. I am really looking forward to the test results to see if any of these blades are part of my regular rotation. Yesterday I was positive I knew what blade this was, today I am not so sure.
