There's an electric razor built into the helmet. Why do you think he went over to the Dark Side.

I'm just a little disturbed how a thread that started with a Star Trek theme has completely switched to a Star Wars theme. Come on and geek out appropriately by staying true to theme. ;)

The biggest kicker of all is that I've never seen Star Trek in my life. But this is all beside the point!

Anyone else have any helpful information for a future face latherer? I appreciate the resources shared thus far, but am open to any additional help, tips, advice, tutorials, or walk-throughs you guys/gals can offer. The more I know, the better my chances for success.

    Off topic sci-fi themes?
Shall we pile into the Tardis then and take it back to the beginning? (Notice the Dr. has been clean shaven in all his regenerations, though in his fourth his sideburns were a little straggly.) Do you think he shaves with a sonic screw driver? What sort of blades must it take? Hmmmm. Yes. Well. Jelly baby anyone?

I just can't get into the Time Lord stuff. Tried to on multiple occasions.

I remember when I did. I was a painting-drawing major with a large portfolio project due on Monday. I was working all night on Saturdau and the TV was on. Dr. Who aired (Tom Baker) with his first episode. At the end I thought, "What the heck was that?" Then I found they were showing a double feature. The had cut the original program into movie-like programs without breaks and the catch-ups needed for serials. At the end of the second one--I think Ark in Space--I thought, "that's cool." Mind you it was 3:00 am and I was dilerious.

My daughter was about 18 months old and she loved it. Our family has enjoyed it ever since. But I think it may take a late night viewing at the beginning.

Yo Steve...I'm another one whose been face lathering almost exclusively for years now.....
The MOST IMPORTANT THING!! and I can't express this enough.......
Is there is only one brush to use for this...Its not cheap but worth every penny.... and you can order it direct from the Manufacturer in a small village in the heel of the boot of Italy....but you must call them to order it and you can only call at 3am your time on theMonday of each month....the number is.... (+) 39-352-21#-34+0....
Just kiddin' Daddy.....Deliberately wasting your time....but you had it coming.....:duel:..:happy097:

Everybody above has covered this beautifully......I'm sure you'll dig it....

All the advice is great, but take it with a grain of salt. Those offering probably will have a different brush than you do, have a different water hardness/softness (what ever you want to call it) than you do, have a different idea of what a "slightly damp brush" is than you do, maybe even using a different soap or cream than you do. All these things play into creating lather, whether it be in a scuttle or on the face. As I said, the advice is great; try all the ideas given. Bottom line is that only by experimenting with the tools YOU have will you master face lathering.

For Shave Stick: I wet my whiskers...wet the end of the shave stick and rub ATG til each whicker has pulled a little ball of soap off the stick...Then I turn on the faucet and dip the brush tips in the water thats washing around the sink; not the direct stream....Then hit my face lathering...if lather is too dry I dip brush tips again and repeat last step til lather looks like Santa...or the cat on the Arko Label...;)

For Shave Cream: I wet my whiskers...take the tube of cream and put maybe 6 dads around on my face (the fact that said dabs should be placed where there are whiskers goes without saying...:happy097:)... Then I turn on the faucet and dip the brush tips in the water thats washing around the sink; not the direct stream....Then hit my face lathering...if lather is too dry I dip brush tips again and repeat last step til lather looks like Santa....

Like Steve says...it will be different for you than anyone else...but if you start with little water and increase til lather Kicks BB...(Baby's Butt)...Desired lather will be achieved....

I face lather soaps and I use all my brushes, boar, badger and blends. Like Steve said, Steve, it is all a matter of figuring out how to wield the gear you have. There are a few guidelines that have already been mentioned, but I find it harder to screw up a face lather, personally. Too wet or too dry, you notice faster so you can correct on the fly.

I'm very interested to hear how it goes with you.

I wonder how much of the soap and water would go in your eyes using this lol

Thank you, everyone for the help. I recognize that I may be trying to take the easy way out by requesting a magic formula that will give me exactly what I need without the effort to figure out what works best for me. That's a lesson I need to learn again and again. I appreciate others sharing what works for them, though, so I can use that as a starting point. Gracias a todos!

Thanks to everyone's scuttle helmet feedback, I think my latest version is a keeper!
