Ya know, if you can get that seal tight enough around the head, your own body heat can help keep that brush and lather warm.

Steve I'm gonna have to agree with Steve All these suggestions really can give you something concrete to work with at the start. In the end though Steve is right. You'll need to experiment with a bunch of things to know what will work best for Steve, Steve..:)

I rarely use a bowl, preferring the face lather method. After I soak my brush, I kick off a little excess water (mine retains a lot) and start swirling on the puck. I go around on the puck until I start to see some decent looking froth building on the puck itself. Once I have the brush on the face I find that the scruff on the side of my neck seems to work up the best thick lather, so sometimes I will work the lather up for a few seconds on my neck and then bring the brush to my cheeks from there. Once I have a good lather over my entire face and neck I use paintbrush strokes to smooth it out. I use Cella and a trick I have discovered is to use the edge of the Cella container against the side of my bristles to coax extra lather out onto the soap where I can pick it up with the brush tips and paint on more hearty lather. This works great on 2nd pass too.

Tribbles make great shaving brushes! If you get a live one, you don't even have to whip up the lather manually.

The problem with live ones though, is that soon you won't be able to find the bathroom.

What are you guys talking about? That's the first picture I've seen in a while that comes close to resembling an average TSD forum member's shaving brush collection...

"Short answer, I will be working on that this week. I just got a new job that forces me to wake up earlier and wet shaving at 6 am with my volatile temperament wouldn't be safe. So I've actually shaved with my electric razor—"

    "Burn the witch!"

"Please understand my situation! I have averaged 30 minutes per shave and I would have to get up 30 minutes earlier to—"

"Bring your torches! Gather your pitchforks! Tonight, we ride for Provo!"

"Guys! It's just a temporary thing for a couple of days while I figure out my schedule! I'm going to practice my face lathering, adjust to an earlier morning (by going to bed earlier), and all will be well."

"I say we still teach him a lesson!"

"B-b-but I'm offering a cool PIF that closes in a day or two!"

[mumble, mumble, counsel, counsel, counsel, mumble, mumble] "Okay, you have one week to get this thing back in order. One week!"

"Thank you, TSD! I won't let you down! Thank you!"
