Blind Blade Test, Shave of the Day (SOTD) Friday August 10, 2012

Prep: Brush soaking in hot water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower
Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9
Blade: Blind Blade Test Blade #8, Shave #2
Brush: VIe-Long LE Beehive Natural Horse Hair
Soap: Tabac
AS: Gillette Cool Wave
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

This is day twenty-one of the blind blade test, which is the second shave with blade number eight.

Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experience. At the end of the test I will be posting my complete daily journal.

All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave.

I am just using a recycled picture from a previous post as it is the same gear.

Pre (Eucerin, warm shower)
Omega 10083 Pro boar

Merkur 1904 Open Comb w/ ??? (likely Astra SP, but may not be)
Post (Cetaphil, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, cold water rinse)

DFS+/BBS- by means of wtg, xtg. Tend to rush with the Merkur 1904 Open Comb as it is quite mild. Slowed down. Took my time. Was rewarded with a borderline DFS+/BBS- shave in two passes. Pure comfort! I'll need to rotate this razor in more often .

Today marks the end of my quest ... MWF each day for a week. Not sure what I was looking for, but I think this will be my basic go-to soap for a while. I'll continue to rotate the others for enjoyable one offs and weekends when I feel the urge. I like them all, but there's usual one that I tend to hit more often on a day-to-day basis. MWF may likely be that soap. We'll see if the SOTD record bares this out in the future.

In a few hours ... it's the weekend!!!
