  2. Friday August 10
    5/8" W.H. Morely & Sons Clover Brand
C&E Nomad Shave Cream & ASB on my Whippeddog Silvertip
Not a bad shave today. I'm definitely getting better at stropping and my shaves are much more confident with the straight. I did give myself a good cut on my upper lip. It was weird, it was my last stroke to clean up my upper lip and the razor just bit me. I suppose I applied pressure. Oh well other than a few battle scars it was my best shave yet with my Clover.;)

Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenyan AA, BLACK
    Soap: TSD Interception

Blade: Astra SP, day 5, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Thayer's Rose Petal WH and Aloe Vera
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

Darn near BBS, even with a blade that finished out with 15+ passes! Nice, smooth and comfortable. Gotta love the Astra.

Well, I guess you don't... really... if you don't want to... I guess.

  6. "National S'mores Day", Friday 08/10/2012

Spent some time on the patio this morning before heading to the shower. The pair of Ruby Throat Hummingbird, dined out the feeder morning.
After a great shower, facial prep with Proraso glycerin.
Chose the smaller LuJin badger to lather TSD "Monkey Farts". After two days of using badgers, I prefer the two Semogues I have for lathering.
Continued with using the Gillette SS black handle with a blade change. In the back of my loose blade container was a blade wrapped in a plain white paper. The blade is a mystery unknown brand.
Three passes and a few touch-ups, the shave was as close to a BBS, that I would call it.
Cold water splash, and alum to finish up. Generous splash of Ogalla Bay Rum.

    Everyone have a great weekend.

Out of all the razors i own the Fon Golden Star would have to be my favourite, not only as a shaver, but the quality and finish are without equal, i always love looking at this razor no matter how many times i see it.

  12. You have one of the coolest looking razor's. For whatever reason, I lust love it. The color contrast with the gold and the amber handle just make it stand out!

  13. Saturday's Shave-Super Speed Week is coming to a close....Bet some of you are going to stick to the SS's after this week is over....;)
This could very well pass for...'Favorites Week'
    Arko Shave Stick

    1938 Gillette Senator OC-TTO
    Perma-Sharp Super D2
    Rebul Manderine Colonia/Rebul Lavanda Colonia
    Pour Un Homme de Caron

This razor/blade combo is uncanny with it's consistancy....always BBS. It has so replaced the Slim @9 for BBSing...and never the slightest irritation...Gillette sure hit it's engineering stride in the mid to late 30's...:happy096: 1st the 1934 Aristocrat, then the 1937 Sheraton followed by the 1938 Senator....I agree with those who feel the Open Comb TTO's were Gillette's finest hour....

Max Refreshing AS :love055: :love055: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing: (great aftershave from Bulgaria)

Another awesome shave which I enjoyed so much. Guys, I posted a review on this original Bulgarian version of Viking Sensitive shaving cream, so have a look at it. It's now a vintage cream, because the company reformulated it. It's very, very good stuff. The Svoboda balsam is so cooling and soothing, and the Max Refreshing aftershave is colder than Aqua Velva or Skin Bracer. ;) :D
  16. [IMG]

The long comb NEW reasserts itself as my favorite open comb (after the Senator I once briefly owned). If all Super Speeds/TTOs/safety bars suddenly vanished tomorrow, this would be my daily shaver...not just of necessity but because it's SO GOOD. Finding it for $2 is gravy on the biscuit.
