Hello...my name is Brad and I am interested in getting into wet shaving. I have been lurking for a while and have finally committed to a Merkur 34C, Parker best badger brush and Col. Conk Bay Rum soap. Its a start, right! I look forward to getting great info from the veterans here and learning a lot.
Hi Brad! [orchestra picks up and Steve stands theatrically with both hands extended out toward the audience as he clears his voice]
Welcome aboard! Fine choice in starting gear. The Merkur 34c was my fisrt DE razor as well. The Col. Conk bay rum is a great soap. If you have not picked up a razor blade sampler pack add it to your list!
Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
Welcome Brad. Glad to have you in the Den! Great guys here with a lot of helpful information and more than a few humorous fellows too. Enjoy your new community.
While everyone is here does anyone have any experience with this brush? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004U6P0NW/?tag=thshde-20 I figured at the very least it's a decent starter!
I ordered some Feathers, figured I would go for the sampler after I get a couple shaves under my belt!
I would go with the H.I.S. Brush, save $10, and completely bypass the starter brush. But that's just my opinion. That may not have been the wisest thing to do...but it's what I did, and I have no regrets about that at all.
