Dmitry, since I had surgery to remove cataracts from both my eyes, I see a lot better now, but I am still very, very nervous to use my straight. Whenever I do, I lock myself in the bathroom, and I make sure there is no noise, or any other distractions. My entire beard is very tough and hard, and although it is getting gray, it is still primarily very black colored. I wanted to use my straight this past Sunday, but Corinne needed me to do her a favour, so I had to postpone the straight shave until I am able to. I am sure that you are very close to becoming a master of the straight!
Thursday Muhle R41 + Voskhod Semogue 1520 Gold Dachs Rivivage Soap Floid Blue Fat Jacks Wax The Gold Dachs was new but I haven't put my new haul up yet - still recovering from being overtired and adjusting to the new unit. Great soap though, even though it's rather expensive. To be honest I wanted the travel size tin more but it's actually got a pleasant scent and great performance.
Woohoo, Friday!! And it’s a 3-day weekend here in S’pore!! My setup of today was nearly identical to yesterdays, only a different AS was used: Musgo Real pre shave oil Martin de Candre scented shave soap Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in horn imitate and with Silver Tip Fibre Merkur Futur, dialed up to a setting of approx. 2.8 today Feather FH-10 stainless blade (Day 5) Bloc Osma Alum D.R. Harris Marlborough after shave Wishing all of you a fantastic weekend! I am sooooo looking forward to those 3 days of going back to bed and sleeping after delivering my son’s customary 05:30 a.m. room service order instead of getting up & ready for work.
Wednesday Morning ... AND Evening Leisurely morning for a workday ... Pre (Eucerin, warm shower) Omega 10083 Pro boar MWF Merkur 23c w/ Astra SP Post (Cetaphil, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, cold water rinse) Master Bay Rum BBS- by means of wtg, xtg, atg, touch-up above jaw-line. Time enough to bowl lather. Rich, excessive amounts of lather. After a little tennis this evening ... Pre (Eucerin, warm shower) Omega 10083 Pro boar Gold Dachs Spezial Merkur 23c w/ Astra SP Post (Cetaphil, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, cold water rinse, Nivea Sensitive lotion) Master Bay Rum Maintenance DFS (solid) by means of wtg, xtg. Haven't attempted to bowl lather my Gold Dachs in over a year. It simply seems to love building lather on the face. Easy. Bowl lathering, not so easy as I remember. So, tried it out ... . After some work, I built a nice lather in the bowl. The consistency was not of the fluffy light egg white variety, but more of a whipped cream variety. Different from other soaps I have, but very nice. Not worth the time to bowl lather as face lathering gets to that stage very quickly. Maybe if I'm up for exercise or something. Ether way ... love the Gold Dachs! That's a wrap!!

I agree with you on the Golddachs soap, Justin. It's wonderful, but very expensive. I still have a puck in use and a new one, but I rarely use it, but whenever I do, I really enjoy the shave.
Friday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 5 Gillette Menthol SC Svoboda AS Balsam Osage Rub AS JHL Cologne Although it's gotten a little cooler here in Montreal I'm so addicted to menthol that I couldn't resist shaving with the Gillette Menthol cream. It's so rich in lather, it smells really nice, and it protects my skin from dryness and irritation. The Svoboda balsam is surprisingly cooling also, and the Osage Rub is a perfect finish to a great shave!
5/8 Hackett Diamond TFS Tobacco Verde Hard Soap homemade 30mm Grade A Silver Tip (new) Malizia Uomo Very nice shave this morning. A couple of new things introduced today. First, a new brush, which is a 30mm big brother to the one pictured and Tcheon Fung Sing Tobacco Verde hard shaving soap. I liked the performance of both. I might have gotten away with a couple of more mm of loft on the brush but time will tell after a few more shaves. I really enjoyed the TFS Tobacco Verde soap, loved the scent. I pick up a Tabac note in there someplace and has a bit of a spicy note to my nose. Skin care seems to be good but it's a little too early in the day to confirm that. TGIF, have a good one. image upload

Friday! (Finally) Muhle R106 The Manchurian TSD Lanolin - Signature Scent Schick Super Stainless Proraso Splash I wasn't going to shave today, since my shaving arm (right arm) is completely seized up...I'm talking pain that brings me to tears. I decided to prep my stuff anyway, then went for a hot shower. I could move it without much pain so I went for a two pass. It went very well; I love the lanolin soap! It feels great and leaves my skin feeling nice afterwards. It was a great DFS shave and I am glad I was able to do it. Happy Friday all!

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Friday August 17, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower Razor: Gillette Tech with iKon Bulldog Handle Blade: Gillette India Wilkinson Sword Brush: Vintage Stanley Home Badger Cream: Lea Sensitive Cream AS: Aqua Velva Musk Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave. I cannot believe how much I love these Indian made Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades. I do not care for the Wilkinson Sword's that you can find at Walmart, but this are such a fine blade. I would rate them as good, if not better than the Gillette 7 O'Clock Blacks for my beard type. It performed so well in my Tech that I cannot wait to use this combination again. The Lea sensitive cream is another one of those products that just performs excalty the way that it should. Building a great lather takes only about a minute, and the cushion and slickness that it provides makes it an outstanding cream. Three full passes, a small amount of j-hooks and buffing around my neck, and I have as close to a BBS that I can get from almost any razor/blade combination. The big difference is I had absolutely zero burn from the alum or aftershave. Just an oustanding shave, and a great way to start a Friday.
