  4. Sounds like we share the same tastes in ASL/Colognes' Arley. If you like British Sterling Cologne you will love Pashana Original ASL! Give it a try as well and I think you will love it! British Sterling was my favorite all time until I got the Pashana Original ASL. (Which is very reasonably priced I might add.) I must warn you though; it's not for the timid or faint of heart; very bold and long lasting! :happy088:

  8. Tried to see how our parents and grandparents could shave after a long day of work. Heavy workout, tried long distance farmer's walk with moderate weight for the first time ever. Hands are meat, fingers covered with tape now and shakes badly. What if I add a straight and Williams to that combo?(input scary ambient music here ;) )
    4/8 Rebell from herzi
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Williams mug soap
    Cold water splash
    Fitjar Miklagard AS cream
To my wonder the shave quality was pretty high. Of cause I put a lot of effort to keep the angle and to to keep strokes light and steady. 1 small nick and a solid DFS shave, except some spots missing! Happy shaving!

  15. Arley, here is a link to a place that sells the Pashana. It is getting hard to find as there was a lawsuit placed against the company selling it under this name in America. I understand it, is that Cartier owns the name "Pasha" in the US. I suppose that Pashana, an old name that predates Cartier, is a bit too similar. To avoid legal entanglements, the idea was to market the fragrance in the US under a different name . Poor Pashana, soon to be called Jack Dean in the U.S. because of silly legalities. QED has it listed but everywhere else it has been removed from their site. I still haven't seen the Jack Dean advertized as yet.
Sorry Arley didn't mean to tease you with a product that was unavailable I just didn't realize it was disappearing from the suppliers so fast. If you want to try a bottle you better act fast! :happy088:

  16. Hello, Gang!

I am tired. And I had a crappy shave with the Fatboy and a new Voskhod blade today. Although stranger things have happened, this was surprising enough to through me off my pace today… Need food. Now. Luckily it's lunch time here so off i go after this post.

All this notwithstanding, today’s set-up was:

    Musgo Real pre shave oil
Martin de Candre scented shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
1960 Gillette Fatboy, started at 5 then dialed up to 8
    Voskhod coated blade (new)
    Bloc Osma Alum
    Musgo Real Classic after shave

I will try the same set up again tomorrow; only with a new Feather blade instead of the Voskhod. Let’s see if the blade was the Corpus Delicti today or if it was a different factor (could of course also have been the user…)

  20. Prep L'Occitane Vetyver
    Razor Vintage Taylors 3000
Brush Simpsons Chubby 1 in Super
    Shaving Cream Simpsons

    L'Occitane Baux Balm
    L'Occitane Baux EDT.

    Jamie.

First shave since I restored the razor, a super smooth shave, I didn't notice anything different about the way this razor behaved when you consider how much longer the tang and tail is compared to most razors, felt comfortable and very balanced.
