Oscar I still have not used another brush since you gave me this, nor do I think I will ever buy another brush I honestly hope it lasts long enough that I can Pass it on to one of my boys when I kick the casket one day. This was my first go with the old prorasso red. It was a lather giant and felt like I had a beard made of clouds. Its really a shame it is no longer made. 2 pass BBS on cheeks and neck. I have to look into mustache wax soon but I have no idea where to start there is 2 months untrained growth on my lip. Anyone have a sample they can trade for a sample of the Prorasso Red I have PM me we'll talk.

Thursday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 4 Gillette Menthol SC 444 AS Balsam Alt Innsbruck AS Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT Man oh man, I think this is the smoothest I've been so far this week. The Gillette Menthol from France is an amazing cream. What a nice scent, it has fantastic lather, and it's frigidly-cold. It's really too bad that it was discontinued. The 444 and the Alt Innsbruck both gave me a very enjoyable menthol bonus.

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Thursday September 6, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, cold shower Razor: Gillette Old Type 102 Single Ring Blade: SuperMax Sunrise Super Stainless Brush: Semogue 620 Boar Soap: English Fine Tallow Shaving Soap (unknown brand, as it was a PIF) AS: English Leather Post: Cold Water Rinse, Splash Of Aftershave. I love the single ring, it is highly effective, easy to maneuver, and just provides and excellent shave. I really should talk to Dave from West Coast Razors about how much of a pain it would be to replate this old type. This one happens to be a chrome one. I love the way it shaves, I am just not a fan of user grade razors as I like to have to having shiny "pretty" gear. I face lathered with this unknown tallow soap today, as much as I enjoy the experience of face lathering, I feel that I must load the brush with more soap to finish three passes. Just need to work on my face lathering technique. I am hoping that my new Tech arrives within the next day or two as I am anxious to give her a spin.

While Thursday is starting out for alot of you, it is finishing here. Pre Shave: hot soak under the shower Shave Cream: Proraso Red (Sandalwood & Shea butter) Shave Mug: 60's Old Spice (Belgium branded) Brush: Men's Biz Super Badger Razor: Merkur 34C Blade: Personna Platinum (1) Post Shave: cold water splash 3 passes WTG / XTG / ATG with a little touch up on the chin. I have read great things about the Personna blades & know why. Wow. What a great shave. I really concentrated on minimizing the pressure & letting the blade do its job. No nicks No aggravated spots. DFS. The smaller mug is a little wider. Lather was plenty, although it got a little cool for the final pass & touch up. Be it the beginning or the end of your Thursday, enjoy your shave & your day.
I hear you, Arley. Same here, I love vintage razors but prefer having nice and shiny too... I hear a lot about Dave's re-plates, must send him a razor one day, maybe my new Rotbart Mond Extra once it gets here (now that is supposed to be quite similar to your old type single ring, i've read somewhere...)
