Right, so this afternoon I complete my article on shavettes, and go check the mailbox, which is overflowing with goodies, including a rare vintage Dorko shavette. The problem is, I've never seen a shavette like it. I love the way it shaves, but I've never seen one with a loading mechanism like it. Is it one of a kind? I'd love to get more like it. The handle is a regular straight razor handle, and the "blade" is cast chrome plated zinc.
Looking great! Enjoy it! Edit: so what is here to feel like a dork? It looks like a great razor! No dorkiness anywhere. Unless we're all dorks over here. Hm. You've got a point...
I can get addicted to using shavettes. I put mine down a while ago and have just stuck to regular straights. I've never seen a Dorko shavette before. Enjoy.
Very cool. After seeing that, I just might be inclined to pick one up should I ever come across one in the wild.
I'll be sending it off to you pretty soon for disassembly and a tiny bit of file work. I'm going to send it off for replating. when it comes back I'll send it back to you for reassembly.
Not a problem just make sure you send me a blade too, so I get to try it out Muhahahaha those are da perks ya know
Why on earth would that be a problem? It takes standard injector blades. I can buy those locally from Sally's Beauty Supply or Bi-Mart, or from any one of hundreds of places that sell them online. I even included a picture of them in the first photo. My problem is that I would like to buy another one of these Shavettes and I can't find another one anywhere.
