Key word: consistently. Meaning whatever other drawbacks it may have (high price, sparse availability, out of production, not the sharpest, etc), it's a brand that for you has been more reliably smooth than any other.
Not that I've tried nearly all there is to try, but for me, this is the Connor MacLeod of stainless blades.
Personna Labs. The only bad shave I had was when I didn't shave for a week and took an old one out of the wrapper that I used already. I had a bad habit of that. Now if I wait more than 3 days a shave, I just toss the blade into the bank.
The dark ones that look like vintage carbon blades? I've been curious to try those because they're so much more affordable than the vintage ones.
No, the ones I'm talking about are a dull silver color and the package is yellow and red. Bullgoose has them.
Smoothest blade for me is a Feather. They are so smooth, they will leave me in a blood bath without ever realizing I'm cut. I don't like em because of that. The smoothest practical blade I've tried are the Gillette 7 O'clock Blacks. Smooth but not too sharp.
