    Mateys!

It be wednesday, the 19th of September. International Speak Like A Pirate Day! Arr!

So, as I woke at four bells of the Morning Watch, I had me a hot water rinse to the tunes of a good hornpipe!
Then I took out me Wilkinson Sword badger's beard brush and me stash of TSD Bay Rum soap.
Whipped me a good lather like the scum of an ocean breaker.
Then I loaded a new shark's teeth in the old Ugly Duckling and had me a go at those whiskers.
I mowed them down like a cutlass through seaweed.
In three passes o' th' ol' Duckling each hair was hewn down.
I felt as smooth as I was the day I first set foot aboard a ship.
    Believe me, ye scallywags!
A good hot water rinse an a cold water rinse completed the task.

So, mateys! Have a grand day!

How did that brush work out for you Bruce? I am thinking about picking up a dozen to put in Xmas presents for the family I haven't gotten into wet shaving yet.

Thanks Oscar. It is nicely done and really adds some heft to an old favorite; the Gillette Old Type head. I thought it looked pretty cool as well! lol

This brush is very a very nice brush for the meager price of $2.50 each! It is similar to a Barbershop Boar brush (Vintage 1950's) and actually at 19MM has a fuller knot. I noticed there wasn't a bad stink as many budget boars possess and after a couple of brush prep lathers the scent is completely gone. (Much easier to get the stink out than my Omega's) I haven't noticed any bristle loss at all and the feel is a little scritchy (not as soft and smooth as a Semogue for instance) but really not as bad as a clipped budget badger either.
It would be a very nice entry level brush for any wet shaver and a great Xmas gift set or wet shaver PIF package item. Here is a link to where they can be obtained:

A very rushed morning got up late had a lab appointment before nine. A quick hot shower this morning.
Prairie Creations pre shave soap for facial prep.
Parker Badger lathered up a puck of Bruma soap for today's shave.
Continued with the Fat Boy and Gillette 7 o'clock blue combo day three, still delivering a great shave.
Even rushed the shave was a great DFS.

Made Shave #6 with no signs of slowing down...This Rapira 'Rocks'....But I'm going to have to change it tomorrow though because I'm traveling...I could re-wrap it and put it back in the box just to see how many shaves it wants to do...But after 6 great shaves it doesn't need to prove anything to me...Every shave with the Senator/Rapira Combo was classic 'Good as it gets!!

    Blade: Astra
    Soap: Omega

Did not get a chance to shave until late this afternoon. Hot towel did a great job. Also let the bowl sit in the hot water and had a nice warm lather. Great shave and BBS except for the one nick on the chin. :(
