Lather was wonderful , the scent was OK (not one of my favs, but not horrible, either). But, boy, did I tenderize my throat. :(

Prep with Dove cream bar face wash with warm water
Tabac original shave stick lathered in the bowl
Weishi 9306c with a Astra blade, 2 pass shave
Cold water wash, alum and another cold water rinse :)
Splash of old spice (i thought it will clash with Tabac but they seem to get along) :D

    Monday 1 October 2012

Each morning I look forward to my shave, shaving is not chore anymore. It is fun each morning to pick out a brush, the soap for the day. Finishing it aftershave or a balm, some days both.

Hot shower starts my day, the change in the weather has Mr. Arthur misbehaving.
While showering the Parker King Badger was warming up. After a great shower facial wash with Prairie creations pre-shave soap.
Taking the warmed King Badger lathered up a dollop of Derby Menthol.
Day two for the Rocket and Rapria pairing.
Three passes then unto the cold water splash , rub down with alum a generous splash of :Animatedfrozensmily:Osage.
The shave was an excellent DFS

I hope everyone has had a great start to the week and that your week goes swimmingly.:D

Tuesday - Day 2 in Rotbart-Land, same set-up as yesterday:

    Calani Dubai shave soap
    Semogue #1305 shave brush
Rotbart Mond - Extra open comb razor
Rotbart “Extra Dünn” razor blade (2.)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Musgo Real Classic after shave

Very nice and effortless shave, 2 passes for a DFS result (it does make it easier to achieve BBS when letting the stubble grow for a couple of days beforehand, I find...).

    Thanks, Jeff!
I mostly curse in Dutch, it really sounds good (even better than Finnish, which I am trying to learn now). The maternal side of my ancestry is originally from the Flemish part of Belgium, their language is quite similar to Dutch.
My Norwegian is extremely limited to only a couple of expressions, I wouldn't call it 'speaking the language', to be honest. I used to have a colleague from Stavanger in Norway working with me here in Singapore and he taught me the one or the other norse word. ;)

If you want to find a very good lather mug (big mouth so your brush has some room to move to make the lather) check out the dollar stores (or equivalent) in your area. (I'm not sure where you live) I have found a number of nice lather mugs (they are actually soup mugs) in these types of stores and they only cost $1.oo dollar. :happy088:
You can not beat the price and you can find some beautiful colored mugs as well. ;)

Here is an example of a $1.00 dollar store shaving Mug. (Soup Mug):

    Thanks mate,
I will be on the look out next time I am out & about, we have a few $1 stores in the area.

    :thanks:

I also saw that Lyndon had a great looking bowl in one of his previous SoS's so hopefully he will get time to let me know how he finds it. :)

    • Prep pre-shave
    • TOBS shaving cream - Shaving Shop
    • FS Berwick (21mm) - Finest Badger - Ivory color, fan shape
    • Gillette 1930's "Thin Bar Handle" - Short Open Comb
    • PolSilver blade (1st shave)
    • TOBS AS gel - Shaving Shop
    • TOBS AS lotion - Shaving Shop
Kicking off the OC week with some of my favorites. I really like the FS fan shave badger. It's one of my most favorite brushes. I think I may buy the silvertip version. (No SBAD here, LOL!) This was my second shave with my new vintage Gillete OC. It is my favorite OC. I can't believe how good of a match it is for me. Today's shave was excellent. I was DFS after two passes and the third pass gave me a very close BBS shave. My cheeks are as smooth as paper, even when I rub my fingers lightly against the grain! I think I could get BBS with this razor is just two passes; WTG and ATG. I love the TOBS Shaving Shop product line, although today I could feel a slight irritation from the fragrance. Funny because I can practically bathe in menthol but I am sensitive to some fragrances. Weird.

Hope you all have an excellent week.

    Cheers, Lyndon

Top to bottom a great shave. I think I'm getting just the slightest tingling from the Dalan, but other than that, no complaints.
