I bought a 40's Super Speed for $20 off of another shaving forum. It looks like it's in real good condition, but I still feel like I paid too much for it. Well it was $20 with shipping included and he said it was going to get here by Friday I hope. So maybe I'm fine, maybe I'm just having buyer's remorse. :( Help me feel better about my purchase.

Twenty bucks for a fine razor that will last you a lifetime sounds like a very good deal to me. How many other things costing $20 would give you daily happiness, be quite useful and last forever? Not to mention that a new razor with the same level of quality, and not lasting a day longer, would cost quite a bit more.

FYI - Those pictures can only be seen by folks logged into Badger & Blade. Non-members and the many banned folks cannot view them.

Looks better than fine. No problems.

This is true. I just feel like I've spent way too much money on shaving sometimes. But this hobby is still a lot cheaper and I didn't get into this for the money.

Oh wow I did not know that until now. I'm sorry. Here I am drowning in my sorrows and most can't even see what it's about.

I just try things and if I like them, great, if they don't work for me, I wait for a time to get rid of them without charging someone too much or charging nothing at all. I think most if not all people on these shaving forums are very trustworthy and will hold up their end of a bargain.

$20 including shipping is fine for that razor - especially considering where prices have gone in the last year. $5 Superspeeds are no more, unfortunately!

Now that I realize that, I'm glad I got my razors before they skyrocket up to an average of $50 or whatever. To me, that was the most important thing to get. Everything else comes second.

Apparently I'm banned too LOL. Well I'm assuming that it's a fine razor. $20 in any decent condition is reasonable for a vintage Gillette.

Lol maybe I should just ban myself and join the club.

Here's a courtesy pic for those who can't see it. IMO it's a fair price. Not a bargain, but still very fair for a razor that is in very good condition and is over 50 years old. I find the old 40's-50's style Super Speeds to be too mild for me, but they are one of the best razors a new wet shaver can start with. If you enjoy shaving and don't mind doing a full three pass shave + touchups with no irritation...hmm...

Sorry guys, I'm off to do a late night shave with my 60's flare tip super speed. I know it's around here somewhere... :shaver

Lol it's not so bad that I'm having to decide if I'm gonna pay rent or for a razor, but now I'm just having to cut myself off.

From the way you have described your facial hair growth in other threads, I really think this razor is right up your alley.

Very nice looking razor! And might I add the following philosophy. "Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy razors, which equals happiness." :)

I looked at all of the pics and don't see anything wrong with that razor or the price you paid for it.

im glad some else posted the pics (as Im not a B&B member)

If you buy any razor at any price and it gives YOU great shaves then its a good buy, looks to be nice enjoy
Granted there maybe be cheaper ones on ebay, but coming from a forum member it (well you would like to think) that it is advertised and described, spot on ) and you have blades and shipping included. so really its only $10 for the razor which is a great price.
