I use the Palmolive stick as a stick. All I do is rub it on my face and neck for about 30-35 seconds, then I wet my brush and I get wonderful lather. I also find it gives nice skincare. :)

This is the last of the 4 ebay razors I picked up a couple of weeks ago. All are in rotation now. I attempted to make my own dapping block and punch for the washers. It didn't come out exactly right but close enough, slightly cone shaped. Finished the scales and pinned it yesterday, the darn washers are small, I felt like I was all thumbs. The razor shaved superbly, great edge on it. This is the first time I've used Acca Kappa, even though I didn't hit the lather quite right I still had a great shave. The combo of Acca Kappa and JoAnne's After Shave Balm or milk left my skin feeling excellent post shave. Have a good one.

Prep: Brush soaking in cold water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, tepid shower
Razor: 1930's Gillette Short Comb NEW mounted to iKon Bulldog Handle
    Blade: Personna Med Prep
    Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Fine English Tallow Shaving Soap
    AS: British Sterling
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave

You can never go wrong with a Short Comb NEW, mild enough to not shred your face apart, yet aggressive enough to get the job done with little effort.

I wish I knew who manufactured this soap. It was PIF'd to me wrapped in wax paper with a label that just read "Fine English Tallow Shaving Soap". It is in same league as Tabac and MWF, just an outstanding product. I had to slice it up to put into my mango wood bowl but it ended up being the perfect amount.

Like most other who have used the Semogue 620 Boar I just love it. If someone was to ask me for a great brush first brush this would be it, as it perfect for both face and bowl lathering.

British Sterling is always a favorite as you can tell by the amount left in the bottle, I just love it.

Im sorry everybody my postings have been hit and miss. This new work schedule has me all screwed up. Ok so saturday morning shave was Gillette ss proraso green soap and a cold water rinse day 5 for the 7 o'clock green.
Today's shave ( Sunday Oct 7) was a treat! MWF hot water face lathered 3 passes and a cold water rinse topped off with a splash of old spice original. Smellin good for the wife today. Its our 12 year wedding anniversary. Bummed I had to work and now I'm off to bed. We celebrated it last weekend but still...I had to work on our anniversary!
Everyone have a beautiful fall Sunday.

    Sunday - 07.10.2012

    Facewash: TBS Maca Root
    Razor: EJ DE89
    Blade: Gillette 77 o'Clock - Yellow
Brush: Omega Boar and Turkish Horse from Bestshave.Net
Soap: Joshua Tree Soapworks & Vitos Super Crema
    AS Lotion: Prorasos Green
AS balm: D.R. Harris Aftershave Milk

Had a surprisingly good shave using an olive oil based soap from a vendor on Ebay.
Lather was rotten, no creamy lather just foam. But it worked marvellously

I got a very thin almost invisible coating, but it was slick and effective.
Had to compare it to Vitos and divided my face into two zones and made battle.

    Vitos lost 3-0

I have a very decent DFS with some areas being BBS.

I have not had this soap before but I did soaps from a different artisan maker (Fitjar I think it was) with Fern scent in it and same here, my face started burning as well. I think in my case it was the Fern essential oil which caused the reaction. Since then I have found that my skin does not like and reacts unhappily (mostly with a burning sensation) to certain essential oils.

Oh wow it sucks doesn't it? I hope my skin isn't allergic because it smells amazing. Luckily as soon as I splashed some cold water on and put witch hazel and my aftershave on, it went away. Maybe it's just the initial shock factor or something like that.

Another BBS with my new slim. I turned it up to 6 (from 3) and could feel the difference. Definitely more aggressive, and a bit more effective. Tomorrow we'll try 9.
