I will never go back. I have only been wet shaving since July, but have done so with a DE or SE every day since I started. I threw out the goo and carts. I don't fly, have an aristocrat and gear at the other house and bring a brush, Super Speed Flair, and C O Bigelow every where else I travel.

I used to abhor scraping my face with a cart and really look forward to my shave every day now. My 70+ yo uncle has just bought an EJ89 brush and soap to go back to DE shaving after seeing how good my skin looks now.

Yep, sure have. I enjoy using the older cartridge systems, namely the Wilkinson Bonded, Sensor, Trac II and Atra occasionally. There's still a can or two of Foamy and Old Spice around the bathroom that I find does a decent job. No, it's not as good as what I can make with vintage soaps but it's kind of fun going back to how I used to shave every once in awhile.

Use an Schick injector for touch up when i use a straight. Same thing as a single blade Bic.

You are right, of course! :eatdrink047:
But in the end it is a YMMV thing. Carts and goo just don't do it for me. ;)

I use disposables and canned goo when I travel sometimes. I don't want my razors to get confiscated and, to be honest, I like using a cart every now and then. What I strongly dislike about carts is the cost.

I was staying at the William Penn hotel in Pittsburgh and didn't have my Fatboy. I had to go to the desk and get one of their disposables. That will be the last time I ever use a disposable. It was terrible.

Both are semi-regular parts of my idiosyncratic rotation, so I can't vote...none of the options fit me. :ashamed001:

When I travel it is normally for a few days at a pop so I leave my proper gear home a lot of the time and just go unshaven. If I look more scraggly than expected I'll get a razor from the hotel desk but never the goo, I alwys use facial soap or take a brush and SS.

Too much of a PITA trying to sneak a blade through airport security or mailing them. I'll check blades in my bag if I'm longer than 3 days though.

I so far always check a bag...my trumpet and lap-top use up my carry-on privileges...So therefore I have my shaving kit that affords me the pleasure of at least knowing I can get a decent shave while out of town...
I'll take my favorites...with the stress and discomfort of traveling, I find being able to have; (what does Jody call it?...) that Shaving Zen experience becomes more important than ever...
To answer the original question, I'm not opposed to trying an Atra again...I remember I like them in the day...but when I rediscovered TWS, I noticed such a difference from shave 1, that I would click the last option except that my favorites at this time don't include an adjustable...

Once I used a plastic gillete disposable, in times before brush and soap while i was still using a Wilkinson Classic DE and can goo, and that was in a pinch when I needed a fast shave for taking a picture for some documents and I was staying at my girlfriends. But since i took up the badger ...never :)

Not a chance! I'd get a brushless cream if I'm in trouble, but no aerosol ever again! Carts I just didn't keep any and I don't see a reason to buy more, considering the cost difference.
Side note but here in Canada, you can actually travel with disposable blades (read DE) in your carry-on as long as they're in their packaging. I have no issues bringing this stuff with me on vacation and have a little travel kit made up.

I keep a Gillette Atra on hand for short business trips where I don't check luggage but I still take a brush and shaving stick. Of course there was the time I got to the Hotel and realized I didn't pack my shaving gear. Had to go with the what the Hotel had. A can of goo and a disposable of some sort.

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

When I was in the hospital for a few weeks I ended up having to go with cartridges. Painful how quickly my face dulled a Mach 3 but at least they had cans of Barbasol which made it at least partially enjoyable.

Haven't used goo since 1986! Just soaps and more recently some creams. Cartridges/disposables however took backstage almost two years ago when I bought a safety razor with blades. I still use a disposable when on vacation.

I used the canned goo a few times but it's because I was traveling and it was all that was available.
