I've been going down into the basement every 20 minutes to suck up what water manages to seep in. So far it's not too bad; takes me about five minutes. I'm just really praying we don't loose power. And there goes the alarm for my next trip to the basement!
I think I have enough for now, but I'm also waiting for this week's shipment from our friend in the Netherlands. Jacuzzi Steve, think jacuzzi. Or koi pond. (hoping tho it doesn't get worse) It's started to rain here and it's windier, but so far nothing that bad.
We have a pretty rotten tree out front that has dropped a lot of branches so far. I moved my wife's car to the end of the driveway luckily or else it'd have a sunroof now. I'm really hoping we don't lose power...... Hold tight folks, it is going to get quite a bit bumpier.
It's truly weird watching hurricane coverage and not living it. Our thoughts and best wishes are with all of you that are in harms way. It is so stressful when you watch the news coverage of it, mostly because of the way it gets sensationalized, but it does keep you in the loop. Just hang in there.
Good luck guys, with me being in the Mid West I'll just be observing from the news. My national guard unit might get mobilized, but hopefully I don't have to meet you under those horrible circumstances.
Good luck all! I sent the minions along in their dingy. They'll be allright. Please tell the penguinators that the yellow moving things are the minions and the still are the cheese!
I hope everyone is staying safe. We were just starting to get the bleeding edge of this storm here in southeast Michigan this afternoon. Mostly just, we're supposed to get up to 24 foot waves on Lake Huron.
Watching some scary videos coming in from the east coast , Stay safe and aware of whats happening around you.
Still hanging in there. Lights have flickered a few times. Some branches down..... Hope everyone else is weathering the storm well.
So far, so good in the Czardom. The lights flickered a few times and winds are gusty, but all is well.
I have power but no cable or internet. Oherwise all is well. Over half the town without power tho. I hope everyone is ok.
Hi again. We lost power overnight, for about 8 hours. We got it back within the last hour. But bridges are closed, so hubby can't get home.
All quiet here. Fortunately no loss of power. Glory to the Lord Most High. The rains were pretty much over by 7:30-8:00, just in time for me to enjoy Monday Night Count Down and the game. Praying for all who lost power may soon have it restored. And as far as the jacuzzi in the basement, Rich, Becky's not too keen on the idea; and the koi pond is definitely out. You know, that's one thing about women that makes me feel sorry for them - they grow up.
Sure hoping to hear from you sometime today. The news coverage is basically NJ and NY. Hoping for everyone in the affected areas a speedy return to power back in your homes and your lives.
