Arley, I noticed when you used the Rhodium top cap with the gold tech base before and thought it looked really cool (I am a big fan of the Silver & Gold combo with watches, rings etc in my personal jewelry.) The Matador handle addition to your silver & gold tech is money! :happy088:

Todays shave was a bit awkward for me as I used a brush I acquired from an antique mall yesterday...an Erskine T-500 (vintage ?) with butterscotch handle.....its apparently imported badger? This is by FAR the softest and floppiest brush I have ever used in my life.....whipped up lather like a beast though! It seriously felt like I was lathering my face with a ultra soft cotton ball.....no exfoliation at all which is a no go for some people on here.....and for me I personally favor boar more so than badger but this was pretty nice! And its not everyday that I pass by a vintage brush in an antique mall with the bristles not all bent sideways from being stored upside down in a mug or bowl :angry017: (its a shame)....anyways I really liked the handle so I got this little puppy and I'm glad I did! Its a bit small but it is pack with some lather fluffing power! All in all a great shave with just a few weepers but nothing an ol alum block can't fix!

    Razor- Gillette ball End Tech
Blade- Voskhod (shave number 3 I think?)
Brush- Vintage? Erskine T-500 with butterscotch handle
    Cream- Arko Regular
Aftershave- Alum Block and some Brut Splash

The Cadet with Voskhod is a great performer; close and smooth. The Omega 31064 Boar is now broken in and has become my go-to brush. Topped off withthe British Sterling Cologne..life is good!

Thank you! :D I spoke to my wife and she seems to be better, but we'll have to see as the day goes on.

I find the Nivea cream performs very well - rich and good lather, smells nice, and leaves my skin comfortable. I am so used to menthol stuff, so I felt like I was missing something because the Nivea has no menthol.

Yesterday, we celebrated Deepavali, the Hindu New Year, here in Singapore (I like the fact that we actually celebrate the New Year 4 times every year here ;)) and I have been making most of it by making this a looooong lazy weekend with the family. Which also means I had not shaved since last Friday.

Time, therefore, to focus on stubble removal this morning by means of:

    Calani 'Simply Soap' shave stick
    Semogue #1305 shave brush
    Cobra Classic SE razor
    Feather Professional blade (1.)
    Bloc Osma Alum
    Speick Men after shave

I could have stopped after the first pass, which would have been clean and smooth enough to spend all day at work. But since there was still so much of the lather in the brush and, to the touch, the tiniest amount of stubble underneath one of the jawlines, I decided to throw in a second pass. Just nice!

Thanks! Unfortunately the fever is starting to come back. We just keep trying to fill her up on good stuff and have her get lots of rest. Here's hoping tonight is better! (Fingers crossed)

Myth - "You cannot get a decent shave from an old beat-up razor."

Well today I wanted to see if it was possible to get a decent shave from an old and very worn Vintage Gillette razor. The razor above was quite dirty, had spots of bluish oxidation between the teeth and on the handle, and all of the plating on the top of the head was gone. When I loaded up a blade and placed the razor in the sink I could almost hear it saying: "Are we are going to have a shave today, sir? Hot dang! Haven't done that for years"!!

    Myth Status - TOTALLY BUSTED!

These old razors can indeed provide a most excellent shave. It just so happens that the OC head on this razor is a perfect match for my whiskers and skin type. This old fella didn't mess around and quickly got around to providing me a very close and comfortable shave. I will probably send this razor off to be replated with the original gold finish. If he was impressed with having a shave today he should be over the moon when he gets a set of new gold duds!

    Cheers, everyone!
