The Red Personnas? You think they are aggressiv?Okay, but for me they are as smooth as the Rotbart or Merkur Blades. I find my Feather blades more aggressiv... They are the cleanest but they cut you at the first chance when you are not 100% concentratet.

Oh they are aggressive enough. Definitely aggressive compared to Derbys. Feathers are in their own category. I can't use Feathers because they cause too much irritation.

I dont have tried the Derby blades yet. Maybe you're right. There will be a comparison... The next shave will be on sunday. The Feather causes very much Irritation, thats true. I dont have these problems with any other blades. Maybe it is because of their sharpness?!

Yes, the Feather is extremely sharp which is why it causes so much irritation.

Rapira are great for the price I bought 400 of em in the spring but wasnt really struck on them, but for some reason I tried one in the Glod 'crat' I bought recently at I was great 3 possibly 4 great shaves per blade, I still feel the Astra SP are better but if your on a tight budget the Rapira's are hard to beat £20 for 400 post free on ebay (Oh and they DONT come with 4 blobs of anoying glue per blade like the Astra:angry032:)

Astras are the best I've tried so far, and I've never had the blobs of glue interfere with my shave.

There is the wonderful Feather blade. And then there are all the others.

The Shark and the Astra are tied in second place for me.

I do not think the Polsilver is worth the difference in price with the Astra SP. In fact, I didn't get a better shave with Polsilver. I prefer the Astras by far and you can't beat the price.

Yeah Astra's are my No1 blade I'm just a bit OCD re the glue. It might of been my FB that had a new sp in it last time I used it and the doors stuck to the blade, I've never had a bad shave from one, it just bugs me.

Given the choice, I'd like to see the company do away with the glue.

What kind of problems are glue spots causing?

    For me, none.
They can, at times, cause the blade to stick to the razor and force you to pry it off. But, as I said, for me it's not an issue.

I tried the Astras and Rapiras again just as research for making a post on this thread....
Not bad but the Chinese Schick Injector and re-branded Personna Injector blades both consistently give me better shaves....not to mention Schick Plus-Platinums or Personna 74's...Of course you need an injector razor to use them...;) BUT.....as far as DE's go...Perma-Sharp Supers are still the only stars in My Blue Shaving Heaven...:happy108: and they have the 4 gobs of glue also...I hate it when the razor bends the blade to its optimum cutting angle and the glue sticks it that way...So when you open the silo doors a second later the blade springs lose and falls flat...then when you change blades you have to take a tooth brush and paste to clean the glue off the razor so the next blade doesn't stick...But until I find a DE blade that I get as good a shave from I put up with it...:)

My wife found Astras for $9.00/100 on Amazon.com.
Yeah, I got 200 of them.

I just shaved with one of my new Astras.
    Yeah, they're good.
I also got 200 Derby blades for $7.00/100.
Derby blades are my favorites, but I like the Astra a lot, too.
